I started training at the Kung Fu School in 2004 and I’m still loving every class even after all these years. Because it’s an international system, I’ve been able to continue my training when I moved to London and Auckland plus enjoyed trips to places like Japan and Malaysia. Our system is traditional so you know you’re learning real techniques passed down over thousands of years that are still applicable in today’s world. It’s not some martial art people invent themselves or mix of random techniques all lumped together... it’s a system that has been passed down from teacher to student for generations (just ask to see the lineage wall). While it contains striking, kicking, joint locks and submissions... it also includes 8 amazing Shaolin animal styles and 18 traditional weapons. You just can’t beat the Kung Fu School for the real martial arts experience. Come along and try your first class for free like I did... I guarantee you’ll enjoy it :)

I have been going since 2010 and have never looked back. There is always something new to learn and I have had amazing support to achieve more than I ever thought I could. Getting to learn weapons, attend fantastic seminars and travel overseas for training have been just some of the highlights so far. The instructors are experienced and professional and classes are always fun and challenging. I would recommend NPC to everyone who wants to try a traditional Martial Art, Self Defence or just wants to get fit in a fun environment with a safe family atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and people! I finally found a martial arts that can keep my easily-bored brain enthralled for good! Would recommend to anyone regardless of age, physical and / or mental ability, and gender.

Hi, I'm Rob. I started Shaolin Nam Pai Chuan Kung Fu in 2001 as an adult student. My training venue was Fairfield School Hall in Levin. That kung fu school is still there and going very well. If you are in Palmerston North, the training venue at Fergusson St is purposely adapted. You would be hard pressed to find another martial arts venue that is purposely catered and also has the professional teaching personnel and systems. As a student belonging to this amazing organisation and family (led by Sifu O'Sullivan), helped me to grow and lead to such a degree that I had the confidence to start my own school in Wellington, 2006. I have over 40 students and growing - all thanks and credits to Sifu. We're all here to stay to help make this world a better place to live in. If you are reading this and interested in martial arts, what are you waiting for?

I started training in Shaolin Kung Fu Nam Pai Chuan at the Kung Fu School back in 2004 and something that started out as a suggestion from a friend has turned into an amazing part of my life. I can honestly say Sifu, Simo and the other instructors have shaped me into the person I am today. When I started looking for a martial art I was overwhelmed with the styles available. Luckily I went along to try NPC and was sold from the very first class. The fun yet challenging atmosphere makes it a great place to learn and everyone is very supportive. Another important point is it's still there! A different school I was considering had their instructor up and leave for Australia and strand all his students. Sifu has had this experience personally and his family have been in Palmerston North now for 14+ years and you know they're here to stay. I'll also mention that there are now many schools started by Sifu and his students around NZ and also in Sydney and Japan. We have our roots in the UK as well so you don't have to stop training if you leave Palmerston North at some stage. And obviously I think the classes and instruction are good or I wouldn't have stayed for 6 years myself. There's always more to learn and many willing teachers when you're ready for the next step. Plus our history is linked directly to the Shaolin temples (ask to see our lineage wall) so you know your getting a traditional martial art built on real values. If you're considering a martial art I highly recommend you try a class at Jiu Lian Shan in Palmerston North. That's the only way you'll know if it's right for you. Hope to see you there!
