Great help, passport photos are done well so you don't need to go back for retakes. I'm having video transferred from VHS to a thumb drive and they've been excellent with their advice.
What’s the point of shooting with film when the only camera store in Kingston just scans negatives and prints from the digital copy? May as well shoot digital. Dropped off some film 2 weeks ago and was told they need to send it off sight for processing and prints. They said it would be one week. So I came back after a week and they said it hadn’t returned yet. They told me to come back tomorrow. I returned 2 days later and they said it still hadn’t been processed but they’d do it right away. I asked if it had been sent yet and they said they didn’t need to send it anywhere, they could process it in the store. I explained my confusion and they had no explanation. So they told me to come back today. So I called and they said it’s ready for pick up. So I went. And when I got there they told me it still wasn’t ready. They said they processed the film but hadn’t scanned the negatives into digital copies to print. I told them I didn’t need them scanned, I just wanted the prints. They then explained they can only print from digital scans. I told them this entire experience was very disappointing and this was not explained to me when I dropped off my film for processing and prints. The guy said nothing. So I told him just give me my stuff back and I’ll leave. He said “ok, that’ll be 10$”. I asked “for what?! you didn’t do what I asked you to do!” But he and they processed my film. So after more than 2 weeks of waiting, 3 visits to the store and 10$, i have negative prints. Great use of my time and money. Never going to this place again. Customer service, communication, organization, quality of work, all one star. Pretty embarrassing actually. But when I look around I see they’re the only camera place in Kingston so I guess that’s why they’re still in business and able to operate with complete disregard for customer satisfaction. I hope some Queen’s drop outs open up and camera store and run these guys out of business. Wouldn’t be hard…
This is the only camera / photography store in town or near Kingston. The staff are friendly and know their subject. If they don't carry what you need they will order it for you at a good price. They have a full range of printing services...I got my passport photos there. I am going back soon to get a travel - friendly camera.
I would never go back. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. 1 the old bald guy made an incredibly unprofessional comment about punching someone if he had to do baby passport photo... As I was standing there waiting for my baby to have his passport photo done. 2 they have no tracking for the passport photos. They keep the photos up front for anyone to grab and some random person now has my baby's photo. 3 I had to pick up something today for someone else and when I walked into the store I was the only one there. The old bald guy saw me and walked away from the counter to the back and didn't acknowledge me at all. They were all chatting away at the back and when he came my way again towards the till, he then turned back again to chat with the others without acknowledging me at all. When I went over to the back part and said "hello, can I pick up something" the old bald guy very rudely turned to me and said "yeah, when we are free" Absolutely no manners. So it takes every person in the store to do one thing? No one could have just said "hello, we will be with you in a second" it isn't that hard to acknowledge a customer is there and let them know you will be with them in a minute. Completely disrespectful. The guy that did run my order through was fine and polite but the old bald guy has been awful to talk to any time I have been in.
Reliable, though a bit pricey. Staff is helpful. For a photo store I could do with better lighting, but that is just a knit picky observation.
I love the old man here. The stuff here was friendly and we had a small chat while arranging my passport photo. He shared me a story of his father during the WW2, the experience was nice.
Kingston Camera is outstanding for service, knowledge, quality and expediency. We have had several occasions this spring and summer where Kingston Camera not only exceeded our expectations but delivered quality service quickly. The sales staff are knowledgeable and friendly and are more than willing to go the distance to make sure that what you are looking for is attainable. I trust them to do the best job they can.
I like to support local businesses, however their customer service is quite poor. If you need infant passport photos, check out the UPS Store at Princess and Division
The printer at my go-to big box store printing service was down for maintenance... and I needed a rush order or prints. So I looked around online and stumbled across this place. First time using the online system, and I was very impressed. Quick, easy to use, and reasonably priced. The photos were printed within a day, and I picked them up the next day. The staff were super friendly while I was in the store. I will most certainly order more from here from now on. Thanks!
I tried to place an online order but discovered the size I required was a custom size. After calling the store and talking with an associate it was suggested I go onto have the order placed to have the size correct. The associate also walked me through the easiest way to place the order. After visiting the store and placing my order Randy completed it in a very short time. I was not expecting my order before Christmas due to the special size and short time. Thank-you so much Randy and all the staff for such great and friendly service, this speaks to how the business is still operating and thriving in these times!
