Quit selling salmon farmed in TAS. The salmon farming industry is killing our marine environment, polluting our beaches and sending the Maugean skate extinct. It's also a cruel industry, treating fish inhumanely, killing wildlife like cormorants and using explosives to deter seals. Photos show algal bloom smothering kelp and seagrass in Northwest Bay at Coningham Beach. Taken 10 March 2025.
Sells gross Tasmanian Salmon therefore supports the horrific cruelty of these fish and the destruction of Tasmania’s Waterways. ShamenPlease re-think this, it’s so disappointing. My previous impression of this store was that it was THE place to shop for the best and freshest local produce, but if you’re selling this then you’re just another business happy to make profits no matter what the costs to Tasmanians
Won't be shopping here again until they stop selling farmed Tasmanian Salmon - a disgusting product that contributes to the destruction of our waterways threatens the health of those who swim in them and causes harm to our wildlife. Shows that they prioritise profits over the local community. So no thanks.
Hill Street in Blackmans Bay is a great spot for fresh, high-quality groceries, and it definitely earns its 4 stars. The produce is always fresh, the deli and bakery sections are fantastic, and the overall shopping experience feels a bit more premium. The store is clean and well-organized, making it easy to find what you need. The only small downside is that it can get a bit busy at peak times, but the friendly staff and great selection more than make up for it. Definitely one of the best local supermarkets in the area!
