What an amazing find. My friend and I had planned to go somewhere else but found ourselves here. I would highly recommend this place if you love intimate venues with intelligent people who respect musicians then check it out.

Seems nice. I asked local jazz musicians which jazz club is the best in Melbourne, the first name that came to their mind was Jazzlab. I have been there one evening during the women jazz festival. It seems nice but I need to go there a second time to make my mind. I found the place too noisy to really appreciate the music and to be honest the band I have seen did not fit my jazz tastes.

This is run by the guy who created Bennetts Lane, the iconic Melbourne jazz venue now sadly sold for property development. Like the best European jazz bars, it's about the music first and the bar second. You will hear brilliant musicians, some well-known, some up-and-comers, always exciting and top quality. The bar is perfectly good, well-staffed with an adequate but not ridiculous selection.

Big crowd here for the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble from the US and part of the 2018 Brunswick Music Festival. Sold out show and mostly standing room only. Or rather dancing room only as this band knew how to get the party going. Ceiling fans and aircon were ok. Bar is well positioned. Staff are mostly friendly.
