One of the joys of travel for me is finding the best coffee shop in town. Welcome to the Grumpy Barista! The lattes are just right, the espresso is not overwhelmed in milk. Also, don’t be fooled by the name; I was welcomed like a neighborhood friend into the cozy space. Treat yourself friends, when in Glasgow. It’s work the walk, bus, metro or taxi!
Friendly staff, nice coffee and food. Two coffees and two savoury snacks crossaint and bruschetta were ~£14. Quite small, they had to turn away a family with a child stroller because there wasn't enough space for it but they were very apologetic about it. Would happily go again.
Very friendly staff, no grumpiness anywhere. Great selection of cakes, pastries, ciabattas and paninis, also lots of drinks options. The chai latte was extremely tasty and I also had a roasted pepper, courgette and sweet chilli panini which was lovely. Very highly recommend for breakfast or lunch.
Place has high reviews. It is small, the coffee is ok we've had better in Glasgow. The barista was not at all grumpy .Food: 3/5
This is such a warm and friendly coffee shop. The staff make you feel welcome. There is an excellent choice of sandwiches, crossiants and paninis. The cakes are sublime. Nothing is too much bother. Such a great place to sit down and let the time pass you by. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
I'm happy that the grumpy barista is not the barista anymore, because I have no words to describe how kind and cheerful the owner was!! The coffee was great, the food super fresh and heated a bit in an oven, thanks so much for not using microwaves and the place was lovely and cozy. This was one of the highlights of our stay in Glasgow, especially for the lovely treat that we got while leaving and the nice and warm talks with the owner. Would love to go for coffee here again!!!
Grumpy Barista is an absolutely lovely cafe with a great atmosphere for working or just to have a quick drink! Hugh is one of the friendliest baristas and makes a stunning latte. I have always felt welcomed and invited into the Grumpy Barista, it is truly a gem in Glasgow!
We had great coffee, delicious sandwiches and cakes, in a cosy place and all this served by a lovely character, who made us understand why Glasgow is nicer than Edinburgh: the warmth of it’s people!!! Thank you Grumpy ? Barista, for your contagious positive energy!! If we ever come back to Glasgow, for sure we’ll meet again.
Stumbled upon this cafe. What a find. Very welcoming, lovely coffee and a great selection of freshly made food and cakes. Great name / not Grumpy at all!!!!
Refused entry to sit in and have coffee with a friend because our two prams would take up too much room despite three tables free in a row. Not only disappointing but highly discriminatory.
