Used be above average but not any more. Phone ordered for pick up at 6pm, chips were cold and the 1 fish and 4 mussels were dripping with oil. Took 4 handy towels to soak up the oil. The Gallay burger was nothing special, no egg, no beetroot, just 2 patties a slice of bacon with tomato and lettuce. There has got to be better places to eat ?
This is a pretty popular place. Food is good but my stars given are based on the seafood basket. It would be nice if you cleaned your seafood before dipping them in batter. All mussels we had bits of rock in them and werent de-bearded, so you had to pull that string of dirt out of your mouth. Service was good though.Food: 2/5
Food quality is great, and for a fish and chips take away restaurant, they make great burgers and sell the best chips for the best price! It's definitely a regular for usFood: 5/5
Fish was great, chips were severely overcooked, onion rings were average, both of which detracted from the overall experience. They weren’t busy, so not sure how chips could be overcooked.
So tasty and good price! Glad I found a good fish and chip on Pukekhoe! Loved the cheesy chips and mussels
This place is popular!! Friendly welcome on entry, easy to read menu, seating for waiting and lots of parking outside. Food was decently priced and tasted delicious. Nice light non greasy batter and a mix of fluffy yet crunchy chips. Mussels were yum!! Definitely going to return here for more fish n chips treats!
Solid place, good prices, good quality fish and chips. Only thing preventing this from being 5 stars is the lack of prioritization on getting orders items all finished at once. On a busy night, if you order burgers AND fish and chips, be aware there appears to be no communication between those two cook stations. Our fish and chips ended up sitting under the heat lamp for forty minutes until they got around to doing the burgers that went with the order. Basic line cook stuff but seriously affects quality.
Great service, chips were cooked to perfection, fish was fresh and prices were very reasonable. My new favourite place to get Fish and Chips.
Food is great and staff is always kind. Would recommend
Yeah they ok for 1-2 people but not my go to as somethings are expensive and some aren't so I'll keep to my own store. Parking: At daytime hours it's hard to find parking.
