A mojo coffee provider, I enjoyed a great flat white here. There was a good range to choose from and the service was quick - it was packed when we arrived indicating it’s a local favourite, and also that unfortunately it was too cold to use the generous outdoor space. We ordered off menu and cabinet. The food was pleasant and well priced. We didn’t end up getting them but the pancakes smelled divine! However our food was  not overly tasty. For example my panini gave off vibes of having been a frozen bun that was microwaved the day of use,  and it was served untoasted. The two other items ordered were rated “not astonishing” by one teen and “decent” by the other. However the baking looked excellent and we had  a very nice lemon muffin. For coffee and a sweet treat I’d rate it  4/5 but for brunch/lunch 3/5. Would definitely stop here again though - esp if it was pancake time.

The staffs at the counter were friendly but not the waitress who shoved us at the side as we were queuing to order.  They should’ve known that their small cafe counter is not in an ideal spot so they could’ve have directed customers where to line up or maybe use an app to order from the table instead?nFortunately the coffee and cabinet food were good and the outside sitting area was nice.

If you are even near Dannevirke, you must stop in for at least a coffee so you experience the amazing energy in The Forge! Restaurant was busy with people of all ages eating meals who were wearing big smiles. Dessert cabinet was simply brimming with mouth-watering sweets with the coolest names.

Our new favourite place to eat when passing through Dannevirke! Best mushrooms ever! Huge portions, friendly staff and great coffee too. The cabinet food is homemade and looks amazing. We’ll done team :-

We had the mussels, and the chicken pasta fettuccine it was delicious! There was lots of food, the sevice was fast and friendly, will definitely return when next in Napier.
