The Dispensary tries so hard but I get the impression it sometimes doesn't quite get there when it is so heavily reliant on good service. Don't get me wrong the wait staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, but english often being the second language and small errors with the kitchen made us receive our first meal cold. Thankfully it was lamb and still very editable, but the small piece that was still warm was even more palatable. Our second dish was the roasted cauliflower and didn't disappoint. I recommend a visit to The Dispensary
Server was extremely friendly, food was wonderful! Bread tasted house made, bacon jam had a nice kick, overall really recommend the savoury mince.
I had the spiced scrambled eggs with sambal and crab on toast for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! The toasted sourdough bread and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The plating was very neat and pretty. It did not disappoint. I left with a happy tummy. Definitely coming back next time.
Impeccable service, the waiters/waitresses were so attentive. The food understandably took a while as it was indeed a friday night. We had the pumpkin risotto and the beef gnocchi, with a side of chips. The pumpkin risotto was exactly as it sounds, but the pumpkin they used made the whole dish have a weird, sweet, salty taste. It's hard to describe. The beef gnocchi was a lot better. The acidity of the red wine sauce went really well with the beef and the gnocchi itself. Though, the acidity became a bit much over time. The chips were relatively basic. It felt like they were trying to make it fancy, but it really doesn't need to be. Regardless, it was good food, i think the flavours can be adjusted.
I’ve visited this place a few times, and the service has always been exceptional. A big shout-out to James, who served our table during my last visit—he was fantastic! The food was average but the cocktails were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be returning!
