Exceptional bakery, cool atmosphere, friendly team members and kid-friendly - what more could you ask for?nnThe reputation of The Clareville Bakery is well deserved - the kai is deliciously mouthwatering and it's a gorgeous setting, not far out of Carterton with plenty of free parking. We visited at lunchtime on New Year's Eve and it was super busy despite the dreary weather.nnSeating is available inside and outside, with a children's playground too suitable for 3 to 10 yrs but most children would enjoy the fully fenced outside garden to run around too - dogs are welcome as well!nnThere is a baby change table in the disabled toilet, a highchair available too, plus kid-friendly menu items fluffys, kid's hot chocolates, mini mince savoury pies etc.nnThis place is worth the effort to get to, perfect for families! An easy day trip from Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.
Always a busy little café in Wairarapa, and for good reason! They do some of the best pastries around – especially their kouign amann and cronuts, absolutely delicious. The almond croissant was good too, though the filling had a slightly orange flavour that wasn’t quite my thing. Coffee is great here, and honestly, they make one of the best mochas I’ve had. Overall, a lovely spot with really nice staff and definitely worth a visit.nWould recommend to get here around 9ish to not miss out on any of their best selling!
Really delicious. Great food on offer. Plenty parking. Easy access even for our camper van. Only down was the service was a little grumpy, kinda felt like I was being rushed and inconveniencing people. Could do with a couple smiles and friendlier hellos. But I think it's also just because they were really busy, so I get it. Very good coffees too.
Definitely worth the stop. Steak and cheese pie was amazing, the chicken sandwich was also excellent. Finished off with a crème brûlée donut! The ginger snap biscuits and strawberry rhubarb jam were great finds as gifts for family too. Stopped in during the afternoon so was a bit quieter and easy to find a table but can definitely see why it gets busy during peak hours!
