Friendly, fast, accommodating service. We made a last minute booking before the greytown light show Sunday evening for 9 people and we were welcomed. Excellent table service with humor and coloring in for the kids to keep them occupied. Buckhorn is our favorite, part of our family tradition to visit while in the wairarapa.
Steak meal was cooked to perfection, but the garlic sauce was more like the crushed garlic you buy in a plastic container from a four square. Mushroom sauce was great, though the salad had just a little too much vinegar for my tastes.
Wonderful warm welcome as we arrived, the staff were very attentive and looked after us well nThe pan fried fish was delicious as was the chicken supreme.nThe death by chocolate looked great, but the chocolate sponge was a little dry and would have benefited from some cream.nThere's no choice of vegetarian dish for the main meal, so you would have to stick to starters. I did notice that you could have your choice of fillings for the burritos mains.nLooked to be very popular with a number of tables pre-booked we were lucky getting there early that there was a table free for us. There is outside seating but the day we were there it was raining.
Quirky little place in Carterton. The staff were super friendly and the service was really quick. The decor of the bar is quite special. There is seating outside and little quieter nooks and crannies. All in all a good place for a bar meal and kids are welcomed too.
Great service and tasty food with big size meals
