James Reyne's Crawl Files.nSuburban icon. Historic building. Local institution.Great Band Room. Not much has changed in decades.nnSuffering from major staffing issues on the night. Long wait times at the bar's. Staff did their best. Great atmosphere.
Mixed emotions on this place, it's like an early 90s time capsule which is cool that it exists but on the other hand I don't think I'd go back for the same reason.nBar staff are great but not 1990s fast.
My friend has the garlic prawn salad. I had the beef schnitzel with lemon. Fantastic crowd very friendly and the three new bands at the blues club were brilliant. The Last Avocado were fun to dance to. What mature folk get up to on a skool night.
Hadn't been here since the 90s! The place has clearly been updated over the years, but still felt very much like the Charles of my youth. Staff were pleasant and while the queue for drinks was a bit long, it wasn't terrible.nGreat venue for live music that has clearly stood the test of time.
My friend and I had dinner there last night. I had yummy pad Thai with heaps of prawns! And she had fish and chips and loved it.
