We were so excited to taste this place because the actual shop looked great ! The food on the other was completely opposite. All the food was stuck to the paper, the batter was soggy, calamari rings tasted like rubber, everything had no seasoning, potatoes scallops tasted like cardboard and the garlic prawns were as small as a maggot! All I want to know is how is this a running business ?
When I first walked into this take away so I thought that the place looked promising and that for once we will have some great fish and chip shop in Penrith. This all changed when I got my take away Fisherman's Basket home. For amount of fish that you get for the price that you pay wasn't worth it. The chips and scampi were overcooked and the fish was unevenly cooked half was almost raw!. For the price and the quality that I've received I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon. In fact since these guys are still new in town, I might give them a year to iron out any issues that they may have. Also, you might be waiting for a long while for your meal. But for now I'm going to See Tucker!
The food is very average. Soggy chips and a basic menu where many items weren't actually available. But the service is terrible, honestly surprisingly bad. They were rude and completely uninterested, you're made to feel like a pain for ordering. Everyone I know who's been here has said the same thing, basic food and really bad service.
Although the food is authentic the service is absolutely terrible. The wait for food is always ridiculous and the young girls have no training in how a British chip shop should run. All food is cooked to order rather than having some cod being kept warm. Forgetful and unorganised, such a shame when it could be so good
The worst fish and chips I have ever eaten in my life. Chips were old and cold. Fish was there any was battered to death, cold and overdone. Service..... well there was none. Will never eat there again. I have had to put one star or it will not post.
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH ! Waited 20mins for food. Ordered 2 Fishermans baskets for $20 each, which advertised crumbed fish. We when finally got to food it was minimal and skimpy, had battered, greasy fish instead of crumbed, asked for extra salt, no salt on anything when we got the food. Asked for tartare sauce as all their sauces were empty and was told "no" flat out, the 12yr old behind the counter couldn't even be bothered looking. Ended up taking the fish back once we seen it wasn't crumbed and were told "oh sorry it's meant to say battered" I asked again for tartare sauce and was given a single squirt in a tub. Pathetic customer service, horrible food. I'd give 0 stars if it was an option.
Excellent service and brilliant traditional fish and chips. I will definitely be going back :
Friendly staff and amazing food. Please ignore the other reviews. You will otherwise miss out on a great dining experience.
great service. chips nice and crunchy. Deep fried mars bars are the best
Lovely Haddock and chips, great service with generous portions.
