Came here for the first time, Watched Atreyu, once the concert was finished went to go inside to the main bar, but was charged an entry fee. You would think spending $100 on a ticket plus buying drinks at $10 per drink, you would think you would get a free entry fee. So an extra $20 per person to get into the main bar to see a DJ play. This place needs a Pool table and more sitting..
Brightside's "Outside" area is very cool. In breeziness and atmo. Seth rocked, sat down and made us cry. Top show! Meh on drink prices changing everytime, so whatever..... Stay positive, LAKE
Came for an emo night but were met by the most hostile and rude staff. One female member of staff in the ladies bathroom went on to berate me, asking if I was stupid or had any common sense after using one of the bathrooms after a lady had been ill. Bearing in mind, it was peak time for the bathrooms and it was the only usable toilet at the time, which other girls urged me to use to bring the queue downs. The staff member - a slender young white girl - then knocked telling me to hurry up, asking if I was stupid, had any common sense, if I didn’t think she’d be cleaning it, and then counted out the toilets as though I was incapable of understanding how to count to three. We had to leave the event early due to me bursting into tears at her abrasiveness and rudeness. We will not be back, despite a love for the music and scene. This is not how you treat a customer, especially one who didn’t cause the mess. I understand the situation isn’t nice, but it shouldn’t be taken out on other customers.

Great venue for concerts! Indoors provides a nice intimate concert where it feels like the bands are talking to you. Outside has a great atmosphere and you can see the stage from anywhere you stand.
Love coming to The Brightside for some good music and chips!
I really like this hall. It's very small, so you can often chat with the band afterwards. The only downside is that if it's fully booked out it's hard to move around haha so being small has it's perks, but also makes it uncomfortable sometimes. But when you go and it's a good amount of people the smallness is actually advantageous. I think they just need to limit the number a bit more. If a band wants a bigger concert go to a bigger gall but this is great for close and personal. So fores and against on the same matter. Would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact it was occasionally too packed.
Had a great time seeing my friends band. Nice little spot to watch gigs and has outdoor seating.
Ignore the sensitive children with allergies to sweat and the smell of urine. FFS! Find me any club filled with hundreds of people that doesn't heat up or, even more challenging, a public toilet that won't eventually stink. Seriously people! That being said, The Brightside is an intimate venue with a clever layout that allows for decent vantage points and easy access to-and-from the stage area/mosh. They host an array of bands across multiple genres, and I've had the privilege of seeing some amazing acts as a result. Ticket prices are generally reasonable, while drinks are the same as any other bar or club; more expensive than having them at home! Again, no shock or surprise there. A public car park is literally 30 metres down the street so that's a huge bonus, as are the nearby taxi ranks and train station. Overall, The Brightside is a cool band venue that plays its part in the Valley music scene. I've never had any issues there and consider myself a loyal customer.
Went to watch/listen to a group called Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird. Wow!! They were fantastic!! Great venue!
