Nice vibes. I like how it's decorated. Great live music. Huge smoking area out the back and another balcony overlooking Wickham Street. Free self-service water: why don't other bars have this?? Haven't been here at peak times. Crowds are trendy in a lower class art student way. The venue is a bit of a maze though and if I was drunk I wouldn't have enjoyed the beautiful tartan-carpeted stairs.
We went to the Foundry on Wickham St to see Bad//Dreems. Atmospheric venue, and great for getting up close to the band and experiencing their energy. The telephone/ticket booth and chalkboard advertising the night's entertainment in the foyer at the entrance downstairs looked great. We drove in and parked at the Wickham Terrace 24hr car park - a 15 minute walk to the venue, and only $5 for parking. We took the stairs up to the bar and stage area; but there must have been an accessible entrance elsewhere, because a person in an electric wheelchair was present at the gig. The women's toilets were fine. Pleasant service at the bar.
Nice atmosphere bar with live music, my friend's band was performing in here and it was amazing. But the carpet was stinky with spoilt beer or something it's quite hard to put up with. hopefully they get rid of the smell or change the carpet into tile or wood. Idk there will be some way to solve the problem. I couldn't drink cuz had to drive back home next time I'll buy some beer to enjoy more
Very cool smaller cap venue. In a very cool part of Brisbane, fast paced night life. This venue has a great D&B sound system and the room sounds really good. Decent sized green room with a locking door and an outdoor balcony.
Regularly features local and higher profile bands. Good performance room, so live sound for punters is generally good. Plenty of spaces to chill out, away from crowd watching bands. Friendly, unpretentious bar staff. Beers available are a bit 'thin on the ground', considering the quality and diversity of offerings in similar venues.
An Amazing place, 3 levels, a cafe, and the BEST venue to see live music! I watched TIMBERWOLF play recently and it sounded FANTASTIC! The beer is cold,and the staff are extremely happy and friendly. It was my first time and it won't be my last! The Valley's BEST kept secret!
Been a while since I've been to The Foundry and I wasn't disappointed. Stage area is small and therefore intimate which is great for high energy gigs which it certainly was for Art vs Science. The floor was bouncing and it was hot and sweaty so shorts are de rigeur in the summer! If you're a smoker you'll be glad to know there is an undercover smoking area upstairs so that's a plus over most other Valley live music venues; well separated from the rest of the venue so also a plus if you're not. Bar area is relatively large and away from the stage with a pool table tucked in the corner. Drinks are sensibly priced.
The experience was fairly average being lifted only by the nice bartenders and street fighter arcade machine. Good for predrinks or live music. Expect typical prices of about 8 dollar ciders and beers but a fairly limited selection.
A fun place with great staff and good sound for live gigs!
Small live music venue with plenty of space for socialising with friends. Upstairs, couldn’t see a lift, so not sure if it’s wheelchair accessible. No onsite parking. There is a car park across the street. Has a bar. Overall a friendly venue.
