Great pub food, with a Greek-themed menu. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, with efficient service and reasonably priced mains and drinks. For a downtown location, this a good value venue, comfortable and with an olde worlde charm. Good for families, friends and a laid-back team night out.
Surprisingly good food. Chicken skewers, grilled vegetables Greek style. Outstanding. Rump steak ok. Cheap wine. Lovely staff.
Fantastic service and vibe. Catered to my dietary requirements and switched vegetables from the platters and added others for small extra cost. Maybe a little less oil for veg seasoning needed Much appreciated
Great pub for a feed with Greek infusion.
It was our first day in Sydney and while waiting for our hotel we were out sightseeing. In the recommendation of a we stopped in at the Belvedere for a few pints and some snacks. The beer is ice cold, the service is friendly and the 1st floor bar is inviting and open. Would definitely stop by again.
Amazing food. Highly recommend this place. The menu is not big but everything was freshly made and delicious. The moussaka was great for 2.
My partner and I always love coming here. The staff are friendly, it’s quiet and relaxing and the food is delicious. The Greek fries are very yummy and if you have the appetite for it, the 1kg snapper for 2 is definitely worth trying. We even got a free ouzo at the end of our meal this time! We’ll be back again for sure.
Service, staff were happy and went the extra mile to make a great night. Food, good variety and delicious, chiefs were just great and funny. Not a big venue but great for a catch up with friends. Recomended.
I've walked past The Belvedere Hotel near Town Hall countless times and can't believe I didn't know about this restaurant sooner!! Located on the second floor, upstairs from the pub, Greek at The Belvedere serves some of the most delicious and authentic Greek food that I've had in a long time. Chef Stegios and the team are so incredibly warm and welcoming, it's like dining with family. We start with the meze plate, laden with beef keftedes meatballs, calamari, fresh tzatziki and olives alongside two beautiful dips served with warm pita bread. My favourite is the taramasalata – a dip made of white cod roe with onion, lemon juice and olive oil. Then, there was the Saganaki Kefalograviera cheese – quite possibly my favourite dish of the night. Crisp and golden on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, the salty bite of cheese was perfectly contrasted with sweet honey, a touch of lemon and crushed pistachios. A must-try! For mains, I'd highly recommend the slow-roasted lamb shoulder, which is impossibly juicy tender, you can pull it apart with a spoon. Served with lemony potatoes and vegetables + tzatziki which is perfect to cut through the rich lamb. I'd also highly recommend the moussaka!! Perfect for sharing and I love that creamy bechamel sauce – yum! For dessert, the galaktoboureko Greek custard slice wrapped in filo with baklava ice cream and cinnamon syrup is hard to go by. Wonderful food and service – I'll be back for sure!
Worth a visit to this little upstairs gem. 3 of us ate well for a nice lunch ordering all the specials from the board. Has lift access and happily accommodated our pram. Will return!
