Always packed in the evenings and they do not take bookings. No personal space here with everyone squished together to maximise seating numbers. We have been here a few times before. The Pork and Prawn pancake is still very good and is still oversized and generously filled. Also ordered Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls, Cambodian Rice Noodle Soup plus Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. They were quite good but we’ve had better elsewhere. On a previous visit, we tried their Steamed Rice Paper Cake with Pork - that was really good too but was not a fan of the bright pink jelly like slice that comes with it. Service is quick and efficient for most dishes but expect to wait a little for the pancake.
A nice authentic vietnamese restaurant tucked in Richmond. It has been at least 5 years since last time we were here, wondering if it's still good. Verdict's in, it is still ah mazing! The venue has a warm feeling to it, dishes are authentic and very tasty and more importantly very affordable. For us, the star of the night were their vietnamese pancake or banh xeo and their prawn mini pancake; very very tasty, the banh xeo was very crispy and full of flavor. Oh boy, their broken rice is also very good. Gotta try their raw beef coleslaw next time!
One of the best vietnamese pancake / banh xeo in Melbourne! Large and generous portions at affordable priced. Very authentic Vietnamese food with many choices of noodles, pho and rice. Just quite small and cramped with tables being super close to each other.
Good place to experience authentic Vietnamese food. Service is also fast and friendly. My only recommendation to owner would be to ensure the bathrooms are cleaned more frequently, as this has not been the case the last 2 times I have been there.Food: 5/5
Recently dropped by here for a lunch. An amazing place with huge variety and selections. Never seen a Vietnamese place with so much dish selections. Quite rusty place, but service was quick and efficient. Very budgetly priced too. Will plan to go again sometime to try rest of the mouth-watering menu.
A great place to be on a cold night for a bowl of hot, comforting soupy noodles. Broth was tasty and goes easy down the throat. I like that it was loaded with vegetables! As sides, do not miss ordering their ban Xeo or their mini pancakes- so yummy. The prawn and crispy pancakes combination were just too perfect. Service here can be a hit or miss depends on your luck- we were there twice and the first visit the server was nice and friendly while the server on our second visit was rather grumpy and impatient.
Lovee the food here. We ordered Bo La Lot, the beef is render and the lead wrapping the beef was very crunchy. Their Com Tam taste amazing. Also the Banh Khot is good. The Banh Xeo was a bit less crunchy than we expected but it was good overall.
I quite like this place. My parents are also obsessed with it. Just wholesome, delicious Vietnamese food that I think anyone would enjoy. The only reason I take a star off is because of the price - however it’s not a dealbreaker for me. It’s just that I know many other places can do the same food for much less, but I think it may be something to do with a different area and demographic. Anyways, the food is really yum. Always fresh I find. The banh xeo is pricy but it’s enormous and very filling. Nice ambience and always busy which I think is a good thing.
Pretty good little resturant that gets packed quick. We went in at 5:15pm and by 5:30, it was a full house! Service is friendly and quick with only a short wait for a giant crispy pancake. Also enjoyed the range of fruit smoothies available
Thanh Ha 2 is definitely deserving of the title of best bánh xèo in Melbourne. As it came out, I was immediately impressed by how large the portion was. The pancake itself was over 30cm in length, loaded generously with fillings, and looked glistening and fresh. It was a perfect balance of textures and flavours. Each mouthful was an exciting explosion of sweet and salty, crispy and crunchy.. an absolute delight! The sugar cane prawn and betel leaf beef were also very tasty. Look forward to returning to try their bánh khọt and bánh cuốn.
