Big oof. I called ahead and asked to reserve a table for a few hours, noting that I’d be meeting someone who would be crocheting my hair. The lovely gal on the phone enthusiastically confirmed and asked if we like the couches, which was ideal. I’d flown in from out of town and was relying on this space, and felt I’d been clear about the purpose. We arrived late morning and ordered drinks, and I told the staff we planned to place a large lunch order in acknowledgment of the time we were there we expected to be there 2 hours. After a little while, we were told there had been complaints and we had to leave. I understand that appeasing customers is a balance and satisfying regular customers are a priority. But I was very disappointed by the rude tone in which we were spoken to. Especially having arranged it in advance. Of course we agreed to go, and stopped working immediately—we took a few minutes to drink the beverages we’d already purchased before leaving in ceramic cups, not to go. Very shortly after the first staff told us off, a man of intimidating stature came and reiterated that we had to go, in a way that I would characterise as aggressive and hostile. We accommodated the request, but the treatment was unacceptable. For those who enjoy the company of rude people, this is the cafe for you. For those who do not, I would give it a pass.
We had a group meet up of a FB group at Terra Viva on a Saturday afternoon. They were amazing. The owner gave the group a great talk and then the cafe staff put on a lovely afternoon tea for the group. Everyone had a wonderful time and the service was amazing. We will definitely be returning.
Food was good, service lovely, atmosphere very cosy, and coffee delicious . The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts is because I found it a little too expensive. I ordered a large latte and a gardeners breakfast, I only asked to swap the hash browns for Halloumi and for 1 person food with the modification paid $41.
We visited to celebrate Mother’s Day with a high tea and were impressed. Every item on the stand was delicious, with a perfect mix of sweet treats and savoury bites. The service was outstanding — friendly, efficient, and made the whole experience feel special. Incredible value for money too. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a memorable café experience.
I would give the food 3.5 stars.nService was good. They were busy.nYou need to order and pay at the counter after they seat you.nThe scones were light and fluffy. The breakfast was okay.nPrices were on the expensive side for the portions.nThere is also a garden centre and a large gift shop with lots of parking.
