I can only give a very average rating for Seven; the overall quality of the place has definitely decreased from the last time we visited. The cafe was nearly empty on the Easter Monday morning we went for breakfast. It was clean and tidy, decor quite acceptable, and warmer inside on a cooler day. The service was good (not great), the menu had an OK range of nice-sounding dishes, and the food on display in the cabinet looked really nice. We both had the Wee Breakfast, mine poached, hers scrambled. The scrambled eggs were quite tough (only way to describe them), looked more like an omelette, and had been cooked with quite a bit of pepper; as were the cooked tomatoes. Not good for my partner who doesn't like pepper, ok for me so we swapped eggs. The rest of the meal was fine, bacon/mushrooms /sausage /hash brown as expected. The beetroot salad I ordered was again quite average. The cost was OK. So overall a bit disappointing; not bad enough that I won't give it another try, but my expectations won't be high when I do.

Always a lovely place to visit. The food and drink are always up to high standard. The staff are always very friendly and pleasant.

We called in on our way to Arthur’s Pass. A quick coffee quickly became two coffees and smashed avo on toast. Quick friendly service. Great coffee and brekky.
