We are a cafe in Addington, Christchurch NZ.

Story

We roast our own fair trade organic Jail Breaker coffee onsite. Free WiFi in the cafe, and bring your dirty washing as we even have our own coin-operated laundromat.

Our latest and greatest is The Addington Store - eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or locally produced gifts and groceries. We also stock Liminal Apparel's range of fair trade organic t-shirts and bags made at Freeset in Kolkata.

We have a small farm at Little River supplying produce and free range eggs to the cafe

An icon of the Addington community, the co-op has been around since before the quakes, from the days when the area was distinctly less business-like. Despite the influx of suits the place has retained its original feel, although it's harder to get a seat on the couches now. There's a laundromat on site, and a book/gift store selling a rather good range of socially-aware and fair trade stuff.

Bonus points if you can identify the flag you're given instead of a table number.

One of my favorite places in the world. Supremely good eggs bene and coffee, great atmosphere and an awesome mission. I tried it on suggestion my first trip to NZ, and one year later on my second trip to New Zealand I went out of my way to make sure I returned to the Addington Coffee Co-Op, despite only spending a few hours in Christchurch! I hope they stay awesome for many years to come.

As always Addington Coffee Coop provide great food and coffee in rustic and authentic surroundings. Open and airy on a hot summers day yet warm and cosy in the depths of winter. Friendly but unobtrusive staff add to the ambiance and experience. The great thing about this cafe is they have maintained this high standard over a long period. It is a place worth visiting that never disappoints.

Coffee - amazing! Atmosphere - delicious! Chatting with Bruce (owner) - Priceless! Don't miss this place when you visit Christchurch! Service is fantastic! Presentation of food was beautiful!

Best coffee I've had ever, and the avo smash was just ridiculously good. Big serving, so it was good value for money.
Addington Coffee Co has a lot of vegan and gluten free options. Only downside is it gets very busy in the mornings!
