Always see staff cleaning up rubbish but does not feel so safe due to young people hanging out. Like the train station camera watching over me

Te Mahia station has been done up so as to feel much more cared for. More people are using it. Be careful after dark however.

Te Mahia is the worst station in Auckland. It has a brick shelter which is in poor condition. The sides of the shelter are covered in graffiti, and there is heavy vandalism on the ticketing machines and AT hop machines. The railway crossing is fine and functional but the alleyways connecting to it are dodgy. The station has poor lighting and the southern end of the platform has no infrastructure on it which would have been a perfect place to install more shelter. AT should upgrade the station and replace the existing brick shelter with a longer canopy shelter. Overall a horrible station not visible to the main road hidden between houses and car dealership yards.

Slowly improving this train station, but it is not safe with the people that hang around
