This museum & art gallery is a charming little location. It's a great way to spend a bit of time while exploring the lakeside. It doesn't have much room for expansive exhibits but the quality of the curation shines through. Additionally, it seems like a layout and series of displays that kids would really enjoy. Overall, good location and great curation.
Visited the museum and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful wood carving exhibition by a local carver. Meeting house and the 2004 gold winning Chelsea flower show garden was just lovely to sit in and relax.
Lovely little museum and art gallery featuring local history and art works. We spent 2 hours here taking in all the exhibits, then shopped at the awesome gift shop afterwards. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area
We had a great time visiting this museum with our family.nThe little “treasure hunt” for kids is a great idea and made the visit easy and fun with our 5- and 7-year-old daughters.nWe were impressed by the lifestyle of the first settlers and what they accomplished, as well as the beautiful Māori art.nWe paid $12 for the four of us, and the staff were very nice and friendly.nDefinitely stop by if you’re in Taupō.
Cool little museum and art display, perfect if your in the area, some cool history from the area as well.
