Taranaki RV Centre has one of New Zealand's largest selection of New & Used Motorhomes.

Story

Originally set up as a car yard by current owner/operator Bob Gordon-Stables in 1989, Taranaki RV Centre has grown to be one of the largest importers of New motorhomes and buses in New Zealand.

Specializing in the sale of New motor homes from the UK and Europe.
We are proud to be the sole New Zealand agent for the ever popular Tribute and Roller Team motorhomes.
We also have a number of quality trade-ins and on behalf vehicles available.

Our New display yard is located at 624 Devon Road, New Plymouth and is open Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm Saturdays 9.00am - 12.00pm Other times by appointment.
Our dedicated team are passionate about motor homing and are only too happy to help you find your perfect vehicle.

We also offer a full workshop facility and it's here that we work our magic. Modifying, converting, repairing, servicing and installing all to our customers specifications. We have built, repaired and modified specialist vehicles for local government, elderly and medical services New Zealand wide.

Our parts department is extensive as is the staff knowledge behind the counter. We also stock one of the largest inventories of RV and bus glass in the country.

They had our caravan for 2 weeks, 3 hours to install 2 USB ports when we were told should be no more then 1 hour, and wait for it 6 hours to put 1 maker light on plus move outside light down put a cover plate over where light use to be and install awning rail and 6 hours to put brackets on for pipe to hold fishing rods. Now our outside light don't work. What a joke.
Great experience. Helpful staff, able to supply replacement door catch that we have searched for online, and in Tauranga and Hamilton.
These guys fixed a couple of warranty issues with our campervan. One of them was replacing leaky roof vents. A few weeks after, one of the vents developed a major leak due to faulty installation. To Nationwide's credit, they got onto it straight away and fixed it and dried out the camper. I would have given them 5 stars if it weren't for the initial faulty workmanship.
Fantastic. Found the plumbing part I needed after trying several other shops. Went back a few weeks later and got a $2000 gas heater for $400. Great staff very helpful. Wear a mask they're scared of COVID
Very busy place. Squeezed me in for Battery & Fridge issues. Fixed all with no fuss & reasonable charge $. Very helpful/friendly people.
Last Saturday morning Marina and I called into the New Plymouth branch. We had some parts on order to pickup. The service we got from Mike in the Parts Department was excellent. He also came out to the motorhome to ensure we had the right parts and they fitted correctly. Mike is very knowledgeable about parts and service. Thank you Mike
EDIT: 07/03/21 Went to their new location about a year after the below review. They must have taken on what I had mentioned as full attention was given.Thank you. Went to the site to view Vents. Hoping to support local shops rather than shop online. Browsed what they had in stock for around 15 minutes, The did not have what I wanted which was not an issue as I was not expecting them to. I wanted to know what was available and what they recommended I order in through their business. The issue I had was the person at the desk just eyeballed me over the computer screen every so often did not acknowledged me even though I was looking in her direction when she looked right at me. There was a man walking around that clearly worked there and did not say hello or how he could help he was walking in and out of staff only areas. He walked past me 3 or 4 times - Not a word said. In the end I walked out. I worked in retail for over 10 years, I would at least say hello even if I knew the person was only browsing. Was expecting them to a at least acknowledge me. I know for a fact they can show you a brochure and order stuff in if what you are after is not in stock. I go to a brick and mortar retail shop specifically so I can talk to somebody that can advise on the product I want to look at or order. I was willing to spend around $2k on equipment plus fitting costs. Decided I am just going to shop online. At least I can view a wide range of stuff and not feel judged that I am not the common age they normally get or look like i have no money. It's not up to me to say hello to you, I am the customer you say hello to me and find out what I need. It is my choice to come to, you not your choice for me to go to you. I can go anywhere I want but you can not force me to go to you. If I come into the shop you should at least acknowledge me FFS. Disappointed that I wasted Gas and time on your outfit. Your team needs lessons in customer service.
Delivered Motorhome, with a stuffed lesuire battery, it was 2019 manufactured reg new 2021 No power at all next morning To their credit, Kane did organise a local electrician, who put in new one, who is brilliant. I would have expected a follow up text or ph call after sale on a regular basis but nothing We have experienced ongoing issues with no follow up and it feels like they are unwilling to help us Very Disappointed Chris/Sue Whanganui
Worst service I have experienced. Waiting at the parts counter for service when the Parts Manager walked past me with the comment "If I don't go for smoko now, I will never get it". - Left me standing there. Couldn't find a bell to ring. Left without what I needed. Have now ordered what I required on line from another company. So much for buying local.
I was in the Taranaki area and phoned with a couple of queries and was able to take my motorhome in that afternoon to get things sorted. Excellent friendly service from the workshop team very appreciative to have been fitted in so quickly especially as they were so busy.
