The maternity ward is a legitimate psychiatric asylum. In which a pregnant women would no way want to give birth in. What a shame. Wonder where all the budgeting for tdhb is going.

Nurses are rude, hate their jobs.

Rooms are a disgrace that haven't been renovated since the 1950s. 

The hospitals policy is that from the middle ages that do not allow partners to remain with their wife's while/after birth.

Worse experience went in there to get my back seen. As I left early from work because I have sciatica. Felt like they thought I faking it. And I was upset a bit because I was so in so much pain. And the nurse said why you crying in much a rude way. I was like because I'm in pain what do you think.😠 really pissed me off.

Third world comes to mind. Quite surreal to see a new rebuilt hospital, run by incompetent fools who can't seem to get things working. Doctors visiting from outside the area once a month? Public would be willing to be operated on in a barn - Hey, we've a world class hospital! but hardly any drs to speak of. Taranaki rate payers  were well and truly ripped!
My personal experience - Bumped off the list at the 11th hour! After sorting out leave from work ect. Even after informing admitting staff I work offshore. So now the dr expects me to wait for a call and take off another two weeks? Where's compensation for my time?
