The Mango Lassi was nice. The portion sizes were slightly overwhelming. Only gave it the number of stars it deserved because I’m not too fussed on Indian flavours. The female server didn’t seem really welcoming either. Should work on the smile.
Good selection of curries! The portions are big and fair priced. Try the butter and mango chicken ! Take Away not recommended as the food is best enjoyed warm and fresh .
Our airbnb hosthe's local! brought us there to have the most amazing garlic cheese naan. Request to get it straight from the back, don't get the ones that have been out awhile at the counter. Our host also said only the naan is good hahahaa so went there only for pre-dinnerFood: 5/5
The Veg Korma's description says it comes with cashews gravy. Everyone knows that Cahswer Gravy is thick in texture! Well, we got a spiced water instead of gravy, sadly. The veggies cut in the curry were too big to suit the taste and upon calling the restaurant, they said that they're serving like this since ages! Not ordering again:
We regularly grab some takeaways from Newtown North Indian Diner. The food is a consistently excellent. Meals are 3 levels of spice, but we stay with the Mild dishes If you want a delicious & economical meal you can't go past this spot
This is my regular Indian restaurant that my partner and I have to go eating there at least once a month. We especially love their butter chicken and lamp korma. The cheese naan is to die for but you will need to ask them to make a new one, not the ones which sit in the tray for a long time.
Small portion of rice especially and expensive for the small portion. They need to clean the trays and a smile by the lady serving would help.
we used to frequent the one in Oxford St - Newtown is out of my usual zone - I just happened to be there one day - the aromas of spices - ah ! authentic to me I've spent months travelling in India - delicious - I can't wait to go back - thinking of how to invent reasons to 'happen' to be in the area again soon ... [update] a mystery - we came here on Thursday 21/6/18 and enjoyed delicious aromatic authentic meals like I'd had in India - we came back the following Friday 29/6/18 looking to enjoy the same, and instead got bland, flavorless meals of quite different appearance, even vegetables cut differently and so disappointing - I assume must have been cooked by a different person. So - don't know - but if that's a regular roster, I'll recommend eat on Thursdays, avoid on Fridays !
Used to be good, now it's pretty plain. You get heaps of rice and small serves of watery curries. Prices are reasonable at least.Food: 3/5
Please taste the food before U make ready to sell to a customer. Bought a samusa: taste awful..burn from outside but doughy from inside and what the hell of your mint sauce ? Did any of you taste a mint sauce in your life before ? Waste of my $5 for a samusa and waste of my time to taste it .
