I ordered chole bhature. It took 20 minutes. Chole were good, 4 out of 5. Bhature were quote big but crisp and not fluffy, parts of it soaking oil. I would rate them 3 out of 5. I am not sure whether the girl serving me was rude or hilarious. She asked me if I wanted any cutlery. I looked at her and felt that she is trying to be helpful and not sarcastic. It was a genuine question. She should have left the choice of whether I will use my hands or cutlery up to me by giving me cutlery by default. I came on Thursday to their best chef. I will try it one more time. Vegetarian options: Good choice for vegetarians.
After 24 years coming to to this indian restaurant. I will no longer come here .it Was tamanas in the old days then north indian diner . Im sad to say i will not come here ever again . Ever since the re brand to Naan sensemaybe new owners the food has gone down hill atleast 10 dissapointing visits. Once rich thick gravy that was a flavour explosion of yumminess and spices is now generic and watery and average tasting.lamb is no longer nice tasting meat. Naan tast very doughy like flour instead of a good naan its not a good naan so sad an icon is gone. Please recommmend me a good replacement.
Buying curry and rice which is meant to be half curry and half rice however this is how they provide their serve. 90% rice with only 10% curry. In addition to that they top up their gravy with water in front of customers too.Food: 3/5
Was very soso taste compared with other same idea places Under average service and hard for me to come back again Food: 3/5
I had such a great dinner with family and friends at Naan Sense, the standout dishes were the butter chicken and lamb madras which were really tasty and authentic. This place is such great value and great for large groups! I feel the recent rennovations really lift this place from a predominately take away shop to a inviting space to visit and eat with family and friends. We'll definitely be regulars here :
The Mango Lassi was nice. The portion sizes were slightly overwhelming. Only gave it the number of stars it deserved because I’m not too fussed on Indian flavours. The female server didn’t seem really welcoming either. Should work on the smile.
we used to frequent the one in Oxford St - Newtown is out of my usual zone - I just happened to be there one day - the aromas of spices - ah ! authentic to me I've spent months travelling in India - delicious - I can't wait to go back - thinking of how to invent reasons to 'happen' to be in the area again soon ... [update] a mystery - we came here on Thursday 21/6/18 and enjoyed delicious aromatic authentic meals like I'd had in India - we came back the following Friday 29/6/18 looking to enjoy the same, and instead got bland, flavorless meals of quite different appearance, even vegetables cut differently and so disappointing - I assume must have been cooked by a different person. So - don't know - but if that's a regular roster, I'll recommend eat on Thursdays, avoid on Fridays !
I went to buy a quick snack after a long time. The owner asked to leave a review. They increased the price to keep up with everything but the samosa, aloo bonda and the cutlet were so terrible that they made me nauseous and I had to simply dump them in the bin!! Perhaps there’s no or not enough competition so they are surviving? If there is a zero star I would give that!!
my impression was that there may be a recent change of ownership - inside seems more stripped down, cutlery made available with meal, didn't see tap water available. meal option signs at the front of the counter below the food aren't helpful - can't be seen easily when people waiting to be served. should be up on the wall behind the staff, as the signs were in past. food variety is great, and fairly cheap fast and cheerful lets be realistic that ingredient costs in all kinds of food have risen signficantly
When this used to be the North Indian Diner, the food was so fuss and delicious. But since the change in ownership and refurbishment the food has gone down hill fast! The lamb curry, palak paneer, butter chicken, and chicken saag were all tastless. The meat was over cooked and dry and the sauce was a watery bland disappointment. I'm sorry, but I won't be coming back. The North Indian Diner was my go to for 6 years, and Naan Sense is a poor replacement. Don't even bother.
