A friend recommended I try their Portuguese tart, so I stopped by for a Portuguese tart and a chocolate one while there. Both were utterly divine - the best I’ve had outside of Lisbon! I’ll definitely be back to try more of their delicious looking baked goods. Just be prepared to wait a bit - it’s a popular spot so lines can get quite long.
Arrived about 2pm on a rainy Sunday and it was packed to the point of people being asked to line up outside. Good sign that this place has some incredible pastry. The Portuguese tarts is their speciality but you can't go wrong with anything else. The Nutella and custard donuts were so fresh. Friendly staff and quick service. Loved the carry pack of the tarts. Can't wait to go back!
Got the Portuguese Tart and some Portuguese pastry. Asked the staff to warm them up for me. I didn't like the custard of the tart that much. The pastry is really crispy. The other pastry tasted alright but I'm not too impressed. There's a constant line at the place when I visited at 10am.
The Portuguese tarts have improved since the last time I visited! The pastry is much crispy now. My parents like these the best because of the pastry and the filling is not too sweet. If you like something sweeter, I'd recommend trying the almond tarts instead.
Sweet Belem’s Portuguese tarts are well known in Sydney and for a good reason. Super light yet crunchy filo pastry filled with delicious egg custard and topped with cinnamon. A must try if you visit this cafe. Their cream caramel is also superb. The baked chocolate tart was a letdown, however. Very dry and flavour was a miss for me. Would love to come back for more egg tarts if I’m ever in the area.
I found this shop by searching on google “best pastry shop” and it came up the best Portuguese in town. I have tried some of cake and tarts. They are delicious. Specially, the cream caramel was the best for me. Recommended
I've always wanted to visit this place. Pretty much all of my friends recommended finally had a chance to be there right before they were closing. Place is sweet, sweets are amazing and the staff are the best. The deserts are mouth-watering. Definitely I'll be back again. Thank you for your lovely hospitality and gift cakes. You are so nice.
Came here for dessert after lunch. Noticed there were long queues while we were at lunch but they had cleared by around 3pm. Cafe has small seating area inside and cute decor. We ordered to eat in a couple of coffees and the Portugese tart, coconut tart, chocolate tart and the walnut brioche. Coffees were ok but the desserts were a little overrated. The tarts were crispy on the outside but flavours were quite simple and mild. Chocolate tart wasn't gooey on the inside as we would have expected. The brioche was a bit dry.
Came back twice and probably would come back more. I quite enjoy the Portuguese tarts and the other desserts and probably plan on trying them all. It is on the pricier side but the quality is somewhat justified as I am a fan on the crispy texture of the pastry of the tart. Service is friendly so hope they get used to seeing me more often.
A friend recommended this place and I went got some portuguese tart and a blueberry cheesecake, both were amazing! The tarts are crunchy just a little too sweet to my taste with the filling but it’s worth a 4.5 stars. But Google ratings doesn’t have half stars, overall all there’s nothing i can complain about. Will return for sure!
