I'm a bus driver for kinetic/translink, and 99% of my passengers are beautiful, friendly, kind humans. I love my job. I will be leaving soon to go back to mining, but I have loved most of my time driving around pensioners, tourists, and the general public.nThank you Sunshine Coast for restoring my faith in humanity =nnAs for the silly teenagers - It's all good kids, you'll grow up and learn respect eventually. Sun coast buses are useless it’s 07:30 on a Sunday morning the 600 south just drives straight past me as I turned around to look back up the road .nHe wasn’t even in the third lane .!n30min late to pick up my daughter .!nThis is the third time this week it’s happened .nYes I have a bus card .!nIt’s not good enough also all the bus drivers that don’t let kids on with no card or money I see it everyday am I’m sick of it .!
The bus didn't stop for my son outside Coolum State High School today. Can't get through to the depot. Policy of no child left behind clearly not being adhered to.
Thank you so much to the driver at Dicky Beach about 6.30 am on Saturday 3/2/24 . You rang 000 when you saw my husband fall. He had got out of a care home and had no idea where he was. Thanks to you and the ambulance he was returned safely with no serious injuries. Thank you for caring. I really appreciate your kindness.
In relation to any reviews about the bus not turning up.nnI would like to inform those wondering why.nnSince Covid19 they are struggling to find drivers to cover all the services on the Sunshine Coast, this is not just a Sunbus issue but right across the industry, including Brisbane and the Gold Coast.nnThese uncovered runs are given to drivers already doing their duty if they want to do voluntary overtime up to a total of 12 hours drive time, but unfortunately on a regular basis not all trips can be covered.nnWhen a trip is dropped or late, a Network Disruption is forwarded to Translink for them to add to their MyTranslink app so passengers can be informed of the cancellation or a late running service, this can be dynamic with not only driver availability but also breakdowns, traffic and loading delays, emergency situations etc.nnUnfortunately employee availability is not only a problem for this industry, but as we all know, every other business, and this seems to be the normal in this day and age.nI hope this information helps with people’s patience and understanding.
