Stillwater is an absolute gem. Set right on the water near Cataract Gorge, the location alone makes it special — calm, scenic, and beautifully atmospheric. But the real highlight is the food. Every dish was superb. The flavours were perfectly balanced, thoughtful, and memorable, and the presentation was simply stunning — the kind of plates that make you pause before taking the first bite.nnPortion sizes were generous without being excessive, leaving us completely satisfied across two courses. The wine list is exceptional — carefully curated, with plenty of quality options to complement the menu.nnWhat truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. We’re travelling with our two poodles, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They warmly welcomed us, happily seated us outside with the dogs, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless. Nothing was a problem. They were genuinely friendly, attentive, and thoughtful throughout.nnThe ambience inside is beautiful — elegant without being pretentious — and the overall experience felt polished yet comfortable.nnA truly spectacular meal from start to finish. I would happily rate Stillwater a 9–10 out of 10 and would return in a heartbeat.
Stillwater Seven met all our expectations. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. Ours had a view of the harbor perhaps they all have which was nice to wake up to, breakfast was supplied which was delicious and the location is convenient being right at the foot of Cataract Gorge. We had lunch when we arrived and dinner that evening, both the food and service was excellent. Looking forward to staying again when we next pass through. Thank you.
Stillwater is amazing icon in Launceston. Offer amazing food, a great wine menu to complement- The atmosphere is cosy and warm. The service staff are knowledgeable and helpful - The Sourdough bread is made on the premises and compliments the delicious food. The restaurant set near Cataract Gorge and meet tge river - Truly a beautifully restored and makes it a place perfect restaurant and well worth dining experience.
We cannot comment on rooms only the restaurant. Our first ever visit. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We loved our evening. Your staff were charming, friendly and attentive with our being intrusive. The food was incredible - we loved everything and your house made bread was something we would go out of our way to buy. We will definitely recommend to friends and we understand why our host recommended you to us as her favourite place to celebrate in Launceston. Thank you for a beautiful evening.
My wife and I had a lovely evening at Stillwater. We didn’t stay at the hotel but had a delicious dinner. Our server Bella was super friendly and made our evening with her great customer service. The drinks and food were next level and would highly recommend.
