Absolutely amazing food! Best food we have ever eaten. Was recommended a stunning mandarin cocktail that was delicious. All wait staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our primary waitress was phenomenal and enthusiastic. She came out with a candle singing Happy Birthday to my partner and even wrote happy birthday on our bill! She offered us recommendations for the remainder of our trip to throughout Tasmania. The best waitress we have ever had and just made our dining experience outstanding. Will be recommending to all of our friends visiting Launceston. Thank you Stillwater!
We dined as a group of nine, including five children, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant—the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all exceptional. I typically only write reviews when a place truly stands out or the opposite. This one is definitely the former.nnFrom the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. Staff immediately offered to take our stroller, and greeted our children so kindly. Our waitress I believe her name was Ji was outstanding—thoughtful, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. She guided us through the wine list based on our preferences and made excellent recommendations.nnEvery dish we ordered was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The evening ended with delicious coffee caramels—a lovely touch.nnWhat really set this experience apart was how comfortable and welcomed we felt, even with a table full of kids. Our children adored the waitress—one even declared they “loved her”! It’s rare to find a place that delivers top-tier food, service, and ambiance while still being genuinely family-friendly.nnWe’ve dined at many fine dining restaurants around the world, and this ranks near the top. If you're in Launceston, don’t miss this gem. It’s money well spent, and we’ll be emailing the restaurant directly to make sure the staff, chef, and especially our waitress know just how appreciated they are.nnThank you Stillwater for a truly memorable evening of good food with our good friends and family. Absolutely incredible! We have not stopped talking about our stay. The moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be a special experience. This hotel absolutely exceeded all expectations. Every little detail has been so thoughtfully planned and executed, from the warm welcome at check-in with Alex, to the beautifully curated rooms.The staff were not just professional, but genuinely kind and attentive. The room was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and filled with subtle touches that elevated our experience.The atmosphere throughout the hotel was serene and luxurious. Everything felt designed to make the guest experience seamless and memorable.It’s rare to find a place where every element works together so perfectly. This was, without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. I can’t wait to return and would recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special.
Stillwater is a beautiful, ambient restaurant like no other. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is a taste sensation and it’s a high end yet casual experience. As a plant based eater, my only criticism is that the menu is particularly meat heavy. I only have a couple of choices, but that said, they are exquisite! I would like to see an expanded offering of cruelty free dishes given the growing segment of the community. Whether a special occasion, or lunch with a friend, it’s a great destination and one I am happy to recommend.
An awesome dining and overnight stay experience at Stillwater. Service from every single member of the staff was outstanding. The accommodation was luxurious with very thoughtful room design, stunning views and one of the best mini bar offerings of local produce I have ever seen. Highly recommend going the full 3 course dinner options. One of the best boutique stays we have enjoyed in quite a while.
