Great value accommodation taking into account rooms are fully self contained with excellent cooking facilities. Penny Royal itself was a pleasant surprise , food prices in keeping with average dining , service was excellent , did not feel like we were taken advantage of as a captive audience. Will definitely stay here any time we need accommodation in Launceston.

Excellent service. Good quality menu utilizing quality local ingredients. Very reasonably priced, same price as a pub meal for a fantastic quality feed in beautiful ambience. Well done.

Was looking forward to dining here but the service was under par due to the waitress not being very knowledgeable or friendly. Only gave it 2 stars due to the fantastic food and we actually had a different waitress serve us and was undeniably better than the previous one.

Ordered share plate for two , enough for one person. Asked for wine, no list just choice of two wines . Both produced by owner . $15 per glass. In my opinion I felt ripped off. Last time at the Penny Royal .

Very poor service. Waited 45 minutes for the meal and they still hadn't cleared the table hours later when we were still sitting there. Food was very nice when it eventually arrived.
