Everytime we go to Chippendale, we make it a point to visit Spice Alley. The assortment of food options is welcoming to our taste buds. Authentic dishes served by the merchants of this alley is happiness in itself. Although it is compact and narrow, it adds to the vibe of the place.
First time I have been here.nVery friendly shop owner and catering staff.nAtmosphere like you are travel somewhere in Asia pacific like Malaysia, Vietnam or China.nI ordered;nPenang char kway teow.nNasi goreng.nAll with highly flame cook in a short time.nHigh skill chef.nI also ordered some dim sum from the Chinese takeaway shop.nFried Prawns hargow.nHam sui cok.nA beautiful snack on the way back to the hotel.
Very picturesque spot with hawker market vibe and plenty of stalls offering a wide range of foods such as Japanese, Bao, Dumplings, etc, so you can eat and drink as much or as little as you like. It does get extremely busy, so you might want to get there early, like we did for lunch, and beat the crowds.
It is one of my favourite eateries in Sydney since they opened back in 2012. Food prices have been raised, sizes of the plate and the amount of the dishes have been reduce. It such a shame they are doing this. But I still enjoyed the food!
Spice Alley is more about the atmosphere than the food; it's kinda basic mall food, taste-wise, but a variety of Asian cuisine to choose from and prices are affordable. It gets really busy here, and you might not find a table. It's a fun thing to do on summer night.
