Southern Star Perth Restaurant

Great Food with an Unbeatable Location Words can't describe the view over Perth's Swan River from this location. As the sun is going down and the South Perth lights switch on it's one of the best restaurants to be. The food is fantastic, too. Some tasty Vietnamese and SE Asian dishes that are really true to form. Well worth the prices charged.

Seated. Waited for 20 minutes while another staff member chatted about herself and China to some diners directly opposite me paying us no attention. The other member was clearly frustrated at this. Not even a drinks order. I drew the line, got up and left with my partner. Quite embarrassed but I'm not going to put up with that. In Melbourne this would be a sackable offence. Also for a Vietnamese restaurant there was everything Asian under the sun! Beware I say!

Lovely beef pho. Soup stock is excellent for my tastes. 10% discount if you do takeaways. Unfortunately, standards have dropped since my first few visits.

Sourthern Star has good portions to share at the table. One serve of fried rice can be shared between three or four people. The service is friendly and the food comes out real quick so if you just want to grab a quick bite to eat this is the place for you. The prices are quite reasonable for the portion size. Great for those who want an authentic taste of Vietnam .

Really good food (squid was very tender & all ingredients are from Australia if not WA) but not as fast as your regular Asian dining.
