Bought a washing machine last week and supposed to be delivered following Saturday. Did not turn up so visited the store and it was closed. This branch went bust. A lot of frustrated people also there in the same boat I was in. The shop Manager was there and handled the situation very well. I went to hire a trailer and picked up the washing machine myself. Store Manager did refund the delivery fee. Sounds like shop staff were blindsided by the decision to close. I say good on the store Manager for doing what he did.
Bad and poor customer service - Quick to take your money and then hide. 0800 number says "your call is important to us" but they cant answer their phones. over a week and one instance stayed on the phone for over 60 minutes and still no answer Emails sent are never answered or get any replies. Can't wait for someone to tell me my order is ready for pick up because I'm going to cancel it. see attached pics - just an example of the times on hold whilst still waiting for someone to answer despite the automated system saying "we'll be with you soon"
I dealt with the Mt Wellington Store, overall the service in the Mt wellington shop was good, the staff was friendly and presentation of the products were tidy, but the reason for the rating are as follows: 1. Extremely hard to contact sales in the shop. The number provided in the website takes you to their administration which then transfers you to the selected retail store, but no answer. Attempted many times. I got a phone call back but it was after hours which I missed it. 2. Pick up from the Warehouse was extremely slow, I was the only one there and it took more than 20mins for them to bring me my stove. Also missing 2 stools that I have ordered, so not everything was ready for pick up. 3. Tried to contact them about my stools, couldn't get in contact because no one picks up from the shop. Emailed them, no reply. No follow up on my missing items. I still haven't heard anything about my stools at this time, will probably start trying again. The fact it is hard to contact them is very stressful. It means when they take your money, they don't care from that point. I recommend only purchase if they have stock but when it comes to asking questions over the phone or to follow up anything...don't bother.
Recently we bought our new house furniture from Smith city Mount Wellington store. Excellent customer service experience at STORE. Their delivery boys were excellent. Very curtious and professional. They even unwrapped our furniture items and placed it inside where ever we want. Highly recommended. Over all excellent experience.
Bought a washing machine here and they were quite helpful. They checked with the supplier while I waited to get an idea of delivery times, and delivery ended up being much sooner that they had mentioned. The only thing I can criticise was the rather expensive delivery fee. The staff were very helpful though, and I would definitely recommend this store to others.
July 2019: Recently came in to buy some stuff. Served by this bloke who knew his stuff and also helped accordingly about stock enquires. Will recommend and visit again EDIT: September 30 2019. Came in looking for a bed, 3 staff not ONE came over to help us out. All three staff having personal conversations the guy who helped me in July was not there. So we went to bedpost and ended up buying from there. Happy to spend 4k in a place where staff was super helpful
Good range of furniture but poor customer service. we went in looking for a new bed. came in twice within an hour and no one helped us. bought a new bed from the waitemata bed shop next door with way better service and knowledge.
Mixed feelings on Smith City. went in store to purchase side tables and chest of drawers. Was told we couldn't get anything before Christmas, despite adequate floor stock and plenty we liked and wanted they wouldn't allow us to buy any of these either. Its strange, a few years back you used to be able to get items within the day or even the week at least? So we went over to Target on Dominion Rd who actually had stock and did a same day delivery. I also ordered online a washer dryer due for delivery, i had to swap the day due to work but still had a phone call with a man who insisted it was to be delivered today despite me explaining i swapped to tomorrow, he didn't seem to understand me which was concerning. I would suggest to Smith City to put their customers and sales first.
I called ahead to check if a particular model BBQ was in stock and the lady who answered the phone at the the Mt Wellington store was really friendly and helpful. We then came in and was assited by Rob who took the time to go through the specs and warranties of the different BBQs in stock which helped us make a choice. Really happy with our purchase and excellent customer service. Thank you Rob!
Keep buying stuff from these guys, there customers service when stuff goes wrong, is awesome! They don't just push you off to the manufacturer, nope, they'll ring and chase it up for, they did for me, a few times. Swapped products when it didn't work etc Nice peeps.
