What a delightful experience from start to finish. The lovely Helen could not have been more compassionate about our situation, she went above and beyond to support us in getting the appointment arranged. Prof Smith is one of a kind in both his skill and his unique personalty. For our consultation, he delivered his insights in a way that definitely worked for us with humour and science, and then plotted a path forward that gave us confidence and hope. Then, the wonderful Jodie was the icing on the cake with her followup and concern. I recommend people be patient, as it's a very busy practice and then respect the process.
Professor Pete is extremely knowledgeable and is very good with every age and personality. He goes above and beyond with each patient. He really cares about your well-being. Thank you to reception and Professor Pete for your incredible service.
It seems that I am being harassed by a local Politician. This clinic seemed to strongly comply with perpetuating this harassment. Reception staff are absolutely disgraceful, rude and exceedingly cunning. They covertly charged my credit card a $100 rescheduling fee, I had no idea that a clinic would get so involved in a personal disagreement that I have had, with an outside individual. Absolutely speechless, but all these negative reviews here support my own experience. Sincerely, if you value your health, go somewhere else.
The Receptionists are rude & nasty. They wont book a skype appointment as advertised, don't return calls, won't reply to emails. They relayed my emails to Prof Pete incorrectly & gave my GP incorrect advice. They were even rude to her. I've never had a receptionist yell abuse at me like that, they made me cry. I've read other reviews of people crying after abuse from reception. Incorrect diagnosis, I've since been diagnosed with MCAS, a diagnosis he missed. . I was sent back to remote Qld without an Epipen. I'm an Anaphylactic. They've since removed their Skype advertisement from their website, that's how shady they are. It's not like Aphra & the Health Ombudsman won't find it mentioned in my emails prior to handing them almost $1000 for nothing. Totally Useless bunch. AVOID them they put my life in danger.
This review is not related to the treatment I received from Dr Smith - I have absolutely no complaints at all about him. Pro Pete Smith is really very nice but unfortunately the admin staff here are incompetent & rude. I have rung several times to ask a simple question about my treatment & they automatically tell you to put it in writing in an email and it will "be processed in a timely manner". Several emails, numerous phone calls & weeks later, I still have not received a response. I have requested the Practice Manager to give me a call yet again but I am still waiting. I had to wait over two years for my initial appointment & my next one is not for 6 months so it would be nice to have some help to move forward implementing my treatment, however, it is impossible to do so without the admin staff doing their part.
**** Dr Pete Smith, NO LONGER Taking new referrals - Closed his books **** 2+year waiting list. Exact words for reception. Please note this so your not sitting around waiting for months to hear back The clinic should update it's it's we to state this, and should at least put some other names out their that would be beneficial to seek elsewhere as GPS don't know all the specialists
Professor Smith is the most knowledgeable and caring Dr I have ever encountered. His thorough assessment and logical management plan was invaluable in treating my son's complex medical condition and his advice is evidence based and considered. His outstanding communication skills ensured that my son understood the purpose of treatment and advice. Aside from his expertise and professionalism we both really appreciated his warmth,kindness and genuine care in improving outcomes for my son. He is truly inspiring and the gold standard that all doctors should aspire to emulate
As chronic illness patient with somewhat rare diagnosis EDS, navigating the medical system is daunting. I needed to see someone with ability to understand the connection behind various conditions, and had professor Smith recommended via a Facebook group for EDS patients. The wait time is long, effectively putting many things on hold. But I was met with kindness, full understanding, mountain of knowledge and an actual interest to help. Yes, the appointment is full on and expensive, however it's well worth for the validation for my concerns, getting answers and a treatment plan. Highly recommend.
The worst experience we have ever had from any medical "professional". I wish I had read the reviews of Dr Marchand before wasting our time. She was rude and condescending to me and my partner. Would not listen to any of our concerns about our son and proceeded to go through with all the test we have already had done elsewhere. No suprise she came back with the same results we already had. Our son had already been diagnosed but she refused to believe the diagnosis, even cutting us off when we tried to bring it up. 4 hours of driving, $600+ and only tears and anger after this experience. We have since changed to an immunologist in Newcastle and I would highly recommend the extra 6 hour drive to not see "Dr" Marchand.
Sadly, if you suffer an anaphylactic reaction the day before your appointment and are to sedated from medication to drive the 200km round trip to see the doctor, you will be covertly charged a $100 rescheduling fee on the day you are well enough to attend. And Indie, how articulate do you expect someone to be while sedated and unwell??? The staff are rude, antagonistic and dishonest as notes on the system and other details such as the date one actually called and reasons given, are not reflective of what actually occurred. People on here say how disgraceful reception staff are and how “great” Dr Smith is, however, who do you think hired reception staff members?
