The docklands service is pretty limited, differing pickup and drop off locations, restricted times I had an early morning flight and the bus wasn't running, the airport location is T4, if you buy the docklands ticket you cannot get on at Southern Cross.

My preferred way to travel between the Airport and the CBD when I visit Melbourne on my own; when with one or more travelling companions, it's about the same price to take a taxi together (and more direct). Price aside, this bus is good value and an efficient way to travel - far, far more efficient than trying to take trains (which I tried once.. just once).

Great fuss free way to get from the air port to the CBD. The shuttle comes by frequently, not a long wait even at 5.30am. Cheaper too if tickets are purchased online in advance.

Extremely comfortable trip to the city and back, reasonably priced too in comparison with taxis or Ubers. Just make sure to get a ticket straight away so you don't have to line and miss your bus!!!

Whenever my wife and I head to Melbourne we use the Skybus. Fast, easy, convenient and VFM. Also handy that where it drops you off in Southern Cross station there are lockers available to place your bags into should you require it.
