The easiest way to get to the airport. Or from the airport downtown. From the station around downtown Melbourne is a little messier, especially with luggage. Roughly $20 one way. I don't know that there is much of a need to purchase in advance, you just queue up in the line based on when you arrive.
Nice easy access from Melbourne's cbd, also a good taxi rank out the front. These buses will get you around everywhere, about 15-20 mins to Tullamarine airport or Back. Much cheaper than a taxi.
Easy, convenient and affordable way to travel between Melbourne city and airport. Great that it runs for long periods 4am to 11pm and frequently every 15 minutes, 30 mins before 6am. Very happy with the service. Would definitely use again.

Plenty of luggage space too.nnThe bus connects to Southern Cross station from where one can take free trams for hotels / restaurants within the city free tram zone, or trains to suburban destinations.nnThere is a discount if you buy a return ticket.nnHighly recommended.
