Food is delicious! Staff needs improvement, but overall it is nice place, not crowded. Great experience to see how food is cooked in front of you. After you finish the main dish, can ask to make a soup from what's left.
We looked around for interesting places to eat at the District and thought we would pop in here to give it a try. The place mat tells us how the whole system works - where we can select a chosen set pot of ingredients or else build your own with different ingredients for a set price. It was deceiving though maybe poor use of language in that the place mat mentioned that they would come to us after the meat was cooked and they would add noodles and broth. We finished and waited for it and then when we finally waved them down, we were informed that we actually had to pay for that. I wouldn't say it was a great experience or particularly delicious but it was unique. The restaurant was very empty when we went on a Friday night and dark. There was only 2 or 3 tables when we were there - and service wasn't very efficient.
Simmer Huang has recently settled their top floor restaurant in Chatswood Interchange. They are known worldwide with over 500 venues across the globe for the interesting take on a hotpot, the Simmer Pot! You must head to Chatswood and experience this unique new hotpot based restaurant concept! A performance is put on at your table where they stretch your noodles into thin strands and then place it into the pot to cook. 3 Minutes later and you have yourself a really enjoyable hot pot. Now interestingly enough, this dish reminded us of a Ragu we had recently, and one that you might find at many Italian restaurants. The noodles were cooked aldente, and tasted almost like pasta. The broth having soaked up the super secret sauce has now also morphed into a thicker soup which the noodles soaked up completely. The one and ONLY negative for this dish was the fact that we were not provided with any bowls/spoons to taste the soup...
Great experience after visiting the city branch, wonderful service and tasty food!
Tasteless and oily. Will not be coming back.
Worst service ever.
