Good bartenders, solid floorspace both down and upstairs decently priced, balcony is a huge plus for some air. The only letdown is the men's bathrooms, the top one doesn't have soap and uses a loose stack of paper towels to dry hands, and the ground floor one has no lock on the stall and the door to the bathroom itself doesn't have an auto close feature :/
They had a great band performing when i went there last. Love there jug deals. Upstairs, its always nice too go on the balcony for some fresh air and yarns.
Phenomenal staff, they really care about you and ensure you have a lovely time. They always have a moment to chat and check you're okay. Any problems get sorted out asap and they try their hardest to ensure we have a good time. Amazing barstaff and their cocktails are divine, always a pleasure coming here after work and on the days I have off. Bouncers are absolute sweethearts, definitely one of my favorite places to vibe
Went here for a friends 21st who i had flown all the way from Western Australia to see. When arriving at this venue on the night of the 7th of may the security guard simply told me i couldn’t go in because i need to ‘eat more’. I was not showing any signs of intoxication at all and was very much minding my own business. It was very demeaning the way he was talking to me, he kept repeating that i need to eat more, i told him i was not drunk at all and explained to him i was there for a friends birthday and he would not let me in, however let actual intoxicated people in. Felt very offended the way it felt like he was judging my body almost. Very disappointed.
Attended a recent function in the upstairs bar. The setting provides an ideal atmosphere for the occasion - either sociable interaction over a few quiets or rousing dance floor antics but probably ideal for 40 at the most. There is an outside balcony for smokers, a breath of fresh air with drink in hand or admiring the outlook on a busy Courtenay Place. Staff are easy going and facilities are of a good standard. Enjoy if you get the opportunity.
I use to enjoy coming here a couple years ago, having revisited last weekend it will be my last. We waited in line to get upstairs as we expected everyone else to only for the bouncers to let his group of 20 friends push in front. If you're not a regular here you will treated like an outsider, this is not the bar for you. Support another local bar that will respect you and everyone else equally.
There's a lot of hating on this place which I'm not sure is really justified. When I came here, they didn't have the finest selection of drink and it was totally dead but that might have been because it was earlier than usual. The staff were very friendly though and I could see this actually being a pretty nice place to come if you were out with a bunch of mates for the night.
I went to Siglo this past Saturday and would like to share my negative experience in hopes that maybe the establishment will change their behavior. I was about to enter the restroom when a man groped me from behind and ran into the men's restroom. Having been sexually assaulted mutiple times now, it is not something I take lightly. The individual locked themselves in the bathroom and I was banging on the door telling them to come outside. Surely if you have the audacity to grab a girl's butt without her permission you should be able to face her, no? Anyway, two bouncers ended up coming upstairs and dragging me down the stairs and kicking me out. I repeatedly told them not to touch me as I could walk myself out of the bar perfectly fine and really did not want to be touched by strange men any more. Instead, they ignored me and grabbed me by my arms and kicked me out of the bar. Sexual assault is clearly a global issue but the way the staff here handeled it was ridiculous. I was groped by a stranger and then kicked out for trying to confront the person who did it. I just wanted to warn any girls who may go here in the future.
Not sure what all the hate on Siglo is about. But it's a great bar, the Male bartender on Friday night is cool and it gets packed pretty quick late into the night.
Was very busy. Venue was packed. Took 20 mins to get served at the bar. As with most venues on a Saturday night if you don't know the bartenders you don't get served quickly.
