We chose this park for several reasons. Firstly it needed to be pet friendly which it was, with the usual rules. So far, so good. The second reason was that it boasted being next to the water which it was. There were lots of muddy mangroves to walk through to get there, but we could live with that. The most important reason we chose this park was that it boasted being quiet. Having spent the previous night in a noisy and somewhat sleepless spot, we craved a good nights sleep. Although not on the main road, the trucks could be clearly heard, as could the trains shunting all night from across the bay. The mine workers, whilst being very polite, started their day at 6.00am. Eventhough the main gates closed for security reasons at 9.30pm, a van arrived after 10.00pm and set up behind us. We asked for a non powered site as we are pretty much self sufficient. What we were allocated was a spot on the gravel carpark adjacent to where the mine workers stayed and where they parked their buses and other vehicles. Not only was it near impossible for us to hammer in pegs (we have a camper trailer) but when we approached the management and staff with our concerns, we were met with blank expressions. The matter was dealt with in a less than adequate manner. To quote my partner, "they were as helpful as an ashtray on a motorcycle ". Had we not already had a difficult day, we would have moved on. The only good thing was the showers - good pressure.

We usually tent but the weather was bad so we booked a cabin. It was a budget cabin and had everything we needed. Good towels. Comfy bed. And we got a cappuccino made for us on arrival. Very friendly.

Unfortunately we paid for 5 nights and left after 1. We asked for a quiet location and we were put next to a public car park and after coming back from the police riddled town, there was a family of 8 put right next door to us. Very expensive. $40 a night!! Bull ants were like a carpet even though we had spray they still were everywhere. We have travelled from Perth and it’s the worst place so far we have stayed. Glad to be leaving especially after not being able to be refunded. Avoid
