Shannons Auctions & Insurance

Enquired twice online regarding putting my car through their auction, absolutely no reply no response no nothing. If a brief yes no answer cant be given, i would hate to have to deal with them if Id insured my car through them or at worst had to make a claim.

Auction customer manager is not freindly and push's business away amazing...These guys are sharks or as i call them the 3 Amigos..

Un freindly even with several cars insured..very sad but on the positive David from management is working to correct this and for this i am pleased..will update soon of outcome..

My partner has been insured with Shannon’s for 5 years. Today I rang them regarding a cover note, so that me ( or my partner) could drive a car home that we had just purchased. I was put in contact with Alana( maybe spelt wrong). I understand that I wasn’t the holder of the policy and my partner would have to contact them regarding the cover note, but the manor in which she informed me of this was very rude. Her tone was very sarcastic. My partner rang after this and was transfer to jay, who was not only helpful but had a good attitude regarding the situation.

I have 2 cars & 2 motorcycles insured with Shannon’s, current experience with trying to get a 12 month old Ducati 1299 Panigale has been appalling. They were initially slow to process the claim and needed to be followed up with repeatedly, when an assessor was finally assigned to the job his comment was ‘these repairers have a reputation for over quoting’ and on assessing the damage he was rude and confrontational at the motorcycle dealers / repairers and was insistent that a number of damaged parts including a petrol tank and fairing were repaired rather than replaced. This will introduce an additional 2-4 weeks as opposed to 2-3 days to get my motorcycle back on the road and with the Xmas break likely we’ll into the New Year. My motorcycle is a low mileage (2,500km), 12 month old Ducati sports bike, the comment from the dealer was that any other insurance company would replace damaged parts on such a new, low mileage m/cycle, the amount that Shannon’s have offered for repairs will barely cover the material costs of doing the repairs. The dealer has yet to have the repairs authorized and my calls this afternoon to Shannon’s have gone unanswered. Whilst I can understand an insurance company wanting to repair rather than replace I cannot accept that what they offer to do those repairs to a nearly new m/cycle will not cover the real cost of doing the job and will lead to my m/cycle being off the road for up to 4-6 weeks. Importantly I cannot accept the rude and confrontational behaviour of the assessor. It is not helpful and particularly embarrassing for me when I am looking to have an on-going relationship with this dealer due to an excellent reputation for service. I urge anyone who has insurance with Shannons to seek quotes from other insurance companies so they are not left facing the same level of service that I have had to if you ever have a claim. I’ve been told that QBE are quite good?
