Spent New Years Day and my birthday with Taupo Sailing Adventures and I am so pleased we did. What a cool experience! There were quite a few of us on board but it was surprisingly manageable considering with a generous undercover space and a great viewing space up front with beanbags and hammocks. Our hosts were awesome, informative and witty. They wished me a happy birthday and were very accommodating. We received a complementary drink, I chose the Merlot! Myself and my teen daughter were able to jump in the pristine water for a refreshing dip. I would highly recommend Tiua for a wonderful memory making experience!
Beautiful and worth of a life trip with safety concerns.nnThe trip it self is wonderful, full of excitement and culture insights. Cap opened the sail and I enjoyed calmful sailing with a nice beer. Whole families love it. It is 5 Of 5 stars.nHowever we do had a safety minor incident when cap closing the front sail. With the strong wind coming from back the rope swings violently hit few people around . My son was one got hit 3 times at right butt. The crews have good safety briefing and plans. However come to the real situation it turned out of control. Luckily no one got hit in the face.nSafety is upmost important.nMy son’s words I like the trip but got wiped at back is an absolute downside.
We booked the 10am trip. My name got called out early which was lucky because it made me save a bean bag seat for myself and my family. It was a lovely warm day and most of the people on the cruise wanted a seat outdoors which made the boat look full. The inside seats where the bar is was empty. It was a glorious boat ride to the Maori carving with great concise narrative. Friendly staff. Hot drinks and bikkie were offered. We had a short time to enjoy a swim in the lake. There was a chance to jump off the boat which a lot of the people tried. Amazing experience to jump off the boat and swim in the cool calm waters of Lake Taupo. Overall, we had beautiful weather and the boat ride was absolutely relaxing. The sails weren't unraveled or opened on our ride. We missed oit on seeing the boat with the beautiful sails - hopefully next time!
We had a wonderful time onboard, and we didn’t have any sea sickness as well!nnIt’s been really great to know more about Lake Taupo, the carvings, as well as seeing the sails hoisted and put down.nnReally kudos to the crew that made our trip pleasant. They even gave us recommendation for the area, talked to us whenever they can and making the entire trip friendly and fun. They served hot drinks as well to keep us warm and well.
Our Taupō Sailing Adventure was such a great experience! The guide was kind and welcoming, and little touches really made it special—like bringing us pizza on board and playing good music during the ride.nnThe boat was smooth and steady, even on what was supposed to be a windy day, so there was no chance of seasickness and we didn’t get wet at all. The Māori carvings weren’t quite as impressive as I expected, but honestly, just being out on the sailboat made it worthwhile.nnIt was September, so the weather was chilly, but with a coat and beanie plus the cozy blankets they provided I was perfectly comfortable. Overall, I’m really glad we went—it was a relaxed, enjoyable way to experience Lake Taupō.
