Wonderful boat cruise to see the carvings.nnA lovely little boat ride to see the Māori carvings. It was very windy when we went so unfortunately we didn’t stay at the carvings as long as usual although still plenty of time to appreciate them and snap any photos because of this we were also treated to the fishing demonstration which was cool. The free hot drinks and muffin were a nice little add on. The staff were very friendly and the captain was clearly an experienced driver.
We had a wonderful afternoon on the tour organised by Chris Jolly Outdoors to see the Mine Bay Māori Rock Carvings.nnIt was a very interesting experience travelling across Lake Taupō—for those unfamiliar with the area, the lake can easily feel like the open sea.nnThe staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the fishing demonstration was amazing for the kids. The tour ended on a lovely note with a muffin and a warm cup of tea. Highly recommended.
We had a great morning with the tour organized by Chris Jolly to see the Maōri rock carving. Interesting experience across the lake. For those who do not know this lake could easily seem a sea. Staff were very friendly. A muffin and a warm tea ended the morning positively.
Excellent tour. Cool female captain and a very friendly crew. Lucky with the weather had a great trip. Nice touch to invite for free hot beverages and homemade fresh muffins during the tour. Good live commentary not too much just right. Give ample time for photos at the Māori rock carvings. We were on the 10.30 am tour and views were great sufficient sunshine
The Māori Rock Cruise with Chris Jolly Outdoors was a really enjoyable and informative experience. The muffins served on board were warm and fluffy, not overly sweet, which was a nice touch while cruising.nnThe commentary provided excellent insight into the history and cultural significance of the Māori Rock Carvings, explaining how and why they were created. We also appreciated the knowledge shared about other local natural attractions around Lake Taupō, which added extra context and made the cruise even more engaging.nnWe were able to get up close to the carvings, with ample time to take beautiful photos of Lake Taupō, making the experience relaxed and memorable. The scenery across the lake was stunning throughout.nnA well-organised cruise that blends culture, history, and natural beauty. A solid 4-star experience and a great way to explore Lake Taupō.
