We had a very pleasant one-night stay at Rydges. The property appeared to have had a recent refurbishment; the lobby and restaurant were modern and up to date, rooms were bright and airy, and everything was functional. The beds were standout; seemingly quite new they were soft and comfortable, and pillows were sturdy and supportive. The staff member at check-in was fantastic, and provided me with a pedestal fan for our room at my request. While a fairly basic offering, all room facilities were clean & worked. Our room had a nice view of the bay. The open-air parking lot with quite a high daily fee is unfortunate, and the rooms do lack a safe. Being winter, we didn't have the opportunity to test the outdoor pool & facilities. A budget-friendly, updated hotel with comfortable beds, good for a short stay.
The room was comfortable and spacious, although the bathroom was quite small. The room however lacked a few things. There was no milk for tea or coffee, no in room information about services available. The heating in the room was broken, but we were supplied with a small fan heater on request. Also no streaming services on the TV, only normal free to air TV, no Netflix or anything which I have never struck before. Room service was pretty ordinary but tasted okay, definitely wasn't presented very well.nnThe staff were very nice and helpful when we needed anything.
Stayed here for two nights in August this is my honest unedited feedbacknn1- bathrooms nice spacious showers ars goodn2- room service is hopeless the phone they have in the room does not connect to housekeeping or to reception I tried few times different times of the day and night could not connect and then had to use my mobile ring up the hotel number to speak to reception which is very bad service then got told first time that reception was busy so they diverted all callsn3- then tried again at 1030-11 pm still couldnNot get through so that’s service for you.n4- the rooms are basic basic like would be good to have a update as it’s old and basicn5- breakfast buffet if you are used to having a good spread forget it they have nothing to offer you muchnFunny part is that you can order fried eggs made by the chef , but if you order a omelette you have to pay 6$ on top , does not make sense have not come across this before you are paying for buffet breakfast you can get eggs fried but omelette you have to pay extran6– checked in got offered paid parking daily rate it’s a rip every street around the hotel is like very quiet you will get plenty of street parking all times of the day and night so if you are staying refuse the paid parking option at least tell the customer you have a choice you can park on the street but if you don’t want to leave your car on the street then park in the hotel car park .n7—overall I would say it’s a old outdated hotel definitely can have better breakfast definitely can have better trained staff who are more polite and helpful .n8—I would say after my stay go live somewhere else don’t go through ugly experience we went throughn9- was checking out today went to the reception today and explaining I had a medical issue and can I pls have 30 min late check out pls a very honest and legitimate reason to ask for 30 min extra and I get told by a indian person at reception no they can’t do anything to help menVERY EXTREMELY RUDE AND VERY DISGUSTING ATTITUDEnn.IS THAT HOW YOU ARE TAUGHT TO DEAL WITH. A CUSTOMER NEEDS IN AN EMERGENCY .nn1o- you can see I am parked in disabled do we need to show you paperwork at reception to beg you sorry medical issue can I pls get thirty min extrannNEVER AGAIN AM I COMING BACK HERE WHERE IS THE COMPASSION TOWARDS A CUSTOMER NEEDSnnI CHECKED OUT ON 24 AUGUST 2025nnTHE MANAGERS NAME WAS RAFInI asked his name and then he comes around and trying to say sorry bro when I am trying to get in the lift excuse me I am not your bro I am a paying customer and is that how you talk to your customers calling them bro nnbecause I asked your name and now you wanna try to say sorrynWhile I am explaining to you it’s a medicalnIssue and I pls need 3o mins extra VERY VERY BAD ATTITUDEnnI AM SORRY CUSTOMER NEEDS SHOULD BE CARED FORnYOUR CHECK out IS AT 2-3 pm and I am asking you 11 am -113o check out and instead of helping a medical issue you wanna stand there and be RUDE to a paying customer.nI have travelled and lived in various chains of hotel never came across this kind of rude staff who are not compassionate about customer needsnnYOU LOST MY BUSINESS
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STAFF they go above and beyond with you. Making sure you have everything you need. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The one and only issue I had was the room was so hot I had to move the bed next to the window. And its currently winter too...
I booked a bay view king room with breakfast, but the room we received did not match what was shown on the website. We paid a total of $597, including credit card fees, for two nights, and the room felt like it belonged in a two-star hotel—it was very outdated.nnThe carpet was old and in poor condition, there was dust on the kettle lid, and the room lacked a safe. The bed was uncomfortable, which resulted in back pain when I woke up. I was so excited for our weekend getaway, as accommodation is something you really look forward to. Unfortunately, I regret choosing this hotel. The buffet breakfast was mediocre and overpriced. I will not recommend this hotel to my friends and will never book here again.
