Story

Rushton Park is an Australian rules football ground located in Mandurah, Western Australia. Having been in use as a football ground since the early 1960s, the ground is currently used as a home ground by three clubs: the, competing in the West Australian Football League, the Mandurah Mustangs, competing in the Peel Football League, and the Peel Thunderbirds, competing in the West Australian Women's Football League . Rushton Park is the only regularly-used ground in the WAFL that falls outside the Perth metropolitan area.HistoryThe area that is now Rushton Park was first gazetted as a sanitation site on 20 August, 1926, and was converted to a recreation reserve in September 1958, under the Mandurah Road Board. The reserve was named for Richard Rushton, a former local government commissioner, with the new name approved on 22 May, 1972. The park was first used for football in the 1960s by the Mandurah Football Club in the Sunday Football League. The ground held its first West Australian Football League (WAFL) match in April 1986 between and, with a record attendance at the time of 7,147 people. A further game was hosted in the 1987 season, between and South Fremantle, with 4,547 in attendance. As well as football, the ground also hosted two cricket matches between a Western Australia Country XI and touring Sri Lankan and Tamil Nadu sides, in 1987 and 1988, respectively. After the Peel Thunder Football Club was accepted into the WAFL for the 1997 season, Rushton Park became its home ground. The first game of the 1997 season, against, drew a crowd of 5,781 people.

Went to the Caravan and camping show. Loved the dear devils on there motorbikes.
I've been here for both motocross and a music festival. It's an awesome huge park, and easy access to toilets, seating, and food trucks when they're set up. Very clean.
My granddaughter had a Young Yorgas session at this venue. I was totally blown away by the size and feel of the building. Clean, enlightening in what this venue currently has going, eg boxing. Also, haven't used yet, but oval is dog friendly.
Quiet, clean place for a walk. Now just FYI, this is a plain, grass oval shaped field. There is nothing else there except for some markings on the ground. Dogs are allowed there.
AFL teams have played here state of the art pavilion excellent presentation
Fantastic venue , very good services and good clean amenities; it's a shame its in an absolutely disappointing neighbourhood and there's more than a good chance your car will be broken into or stolen and if you catch the train theres nearly a 100% guarantee you'll be robbed on the walk to and from the venue !
Not a fan of the stadium especially when it rains gives no protection
Main Club facilities mostly impressive ... food, beverage, comfort factor, rest rooms ... Service timely, staff friendly & obliging, professional. Although viewing the game from inside is often limited by the architectural fancy down beams which are large and obscure parts of the game ! The Canteen facilities have struggled to have a full menu, and often run-out of the good stuff - hamburgers, sausage sizzle, onions, even the good old chiko roll ... Now that's probably tops for the Club, however no so good for the hungry punter ... Maybe have a few extra items in the fridge & freezer and keep hungry fan happy ... and Peel will top up their till & their coffers too ... Maybe a coffee van & ice cream van somewhere around around the ground would be handy, eh.
It's now a fairly large area. There is lawn bowls, netball, football, indoor cricket, tennis and even croquet.
Good seating. Plenty of room around the oval if not sitting in permanent seats. First time here and enjoyed the atmosphere
