The view from our balcony was out of this world, breathtakingly beautiful. The room was nice, but getting a little tired around the edges. The main thing that let the room down was the standard of housekeeping was poor they didn't clean bathrooms or floors, basically just made the beds. I would have liked the bar to open more regularly and to be able to get snacks from the bar from 12 to 3pm everyday not just Fridays and saturdays it felt a bit of a wasted area.
Love staying at Rumba! This is our second visit this year for our family. Rumba offers everything a busy family needs for a fun filled holiday! The accommodation is clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly, approachable and genuinely want to ensure you have a wonderful holiday. The location is perfect, walking distance to the big waves at Kings Beach and across the road from the family friendly, Bulcock Beach. There are so many delicious dining options just down stairs! The pools are also fantastic and the bar and restaurant cater for a relaxing afternoon by the pool and easy dinner. We love it and have decided to make Rumba our regular family holiday destination.
Thus far great views, adequate space for up to 4 adults in a 2 bedroom apartment for up to a week. However, on checking in yesterday the staff were closing up the screens in the lobby before the as advertised 3 PM on a Sunday afternoon and otherwise My Mum and sister would have had to call the outside hours number to actually check in. When you state that check in is before 3 PM and you arrive before that time and the staff are pulling down the shutters on the check in counter that's not very welcoming, so perhaps consideration for the time of year might need to be something that management must think seriously about.
I stayed at Rumba Resort with my Mum and son from 17 Jan - 20 Jan. This was my 3rd visit and I was disappointed with the overall experience. We booked a 3 bedroom ocean view apartment and were allocated apartment 216. I was disappointed at this because we had requested a high floor but the lady on reception said we were lucky not to be on level 1. The apartment itself was set back from the other ocean view apartments and had a much smaller balcony than what we were used to. Initially I thought a mistake had been made as I had booked the same type of apartment we had in the past and had a much better view. I submitted feedback querying this on my my night and received no response. When I left I received another automated request for feedback which I provided and got no response to. I have given two stars due to the huge variation in apartments and poor customer service lady at checkin and not responding to feedback. If an apartment is set back from the others with a small balcony and limited views then this should be in a different category to the other ocean view apartments and priced accordingly.
Stayed Nov 2024 in unit 314, a 3 bedroom apartment non updated on Level 3, building C on the Esplanade.nLovely resort. Fairly well appointed kitchen. Beautiful large corner balcony though some units like 315 have smaller balconies/terraces with walls on both sides.nThe resort IS accessible with a wheelchair or pram so long as you look for the ramps. Each tower A, B and C has its own lift. To move between the restaurant/street level B1 up to the pools and reception 1 there is both a big staircase and a lift via the passageway between Hogs Breath and the Coffee Club which was great for grandparents and prams.nThe bar have complimentary muffins and percolated coffee available 7-10am in the mornings which is a lovely touch. Happy hours runs 4-6pm every day which is $16 cocktails instead of $20 and a couple dollars off beers tap or bottles. No apparent happy hour prices for wine. Mocktail list too and offers some hot food like spring rolls, crumbed prawns, wedges and chips.n2 separate pools and a spa on site. Can’t beat location to beach immediately across the road, 5-6 restaurants and gelato underneath and Main Street of Caloundra just around the corner!
