This company is a complete disaster. Don't recommend it at all! We hired a van with shower and toilet, and we couldn't use hot water because it was broken. They only refound us one day of use, which is unfair, cause we pay for hot water shower.

We hired a van in March 2017. A poor quality vehicle, lots of chips on the windscreen, broken lights, sparse and extremely poor quality fittings, bedding and utensils. We ended up having to buy items to supplement these, including a brake light, we are currently still awaiting a promised refund!
Customer service is awful, very little help with our complaint. Their only answer was a 12 hour round trip to collect another vehicle. No one met us at the drop off point and no one informed us they wouldn't be there. 
Hiring a camper van in NZ is a fab thing to do but there are much better companies out there.

There is a reason the google score is 2.7. I wish I’d checked before I booked via a consolidation booking site (agent). For example: Camper was of poor quality and carelessly equipped. Some things didn’t work, were missing or dirty. Interaction with RRR actually brought me to cry. Not exactly what I was looking for on a once in a lifetime holiday. 

To add some element of positive balance I can add they processed the refund of the deposit quickly, gave us a lift to the hotel from their depot and their handling partners in Auckland were friendly and helpful.

We rent a 4 berth and picked up Auckland. A panel was broken and had to be repaired at site. That nights we found out that the toilet didn't flush, the drainage didn't work (could not take a shower and couldn't cook), window was broken. With Christmas the car was broken down (engine didn't start) and the AA service couldn't repair. We had to pay the AA service and we had to pay the mechanics from RRR. The worse thing was that we had to wait 2 full days to fixt the car. Randall didn't want to help at all. Only option he gave was: "drive to Christchurch and we will have a look". This was 2 days drive for us and not an option. We missed our helicopter tour at Franz Jozef Gletsjer (almost 1500 dollar) and Randall from RRR didn't want to refund anything. 
Please don't use this company because it will ruin your holiday for sure. There are more and much better companies in NZ.

We booked a 4 berth with only issues: toilet didn't flush, no drainage, no shower, external panel not fixed, engine broke down. Had to wait 2 days with Christmas. Randall didn't want to ask his mechanics due to Christmas. We had to wait in the middle of nowhere. Had to pay extra hotel, had to pay the AA-service. At the end we had to pay also for the mechanics of RRR. We missed our helicopter tours (3x456 Dollar), we couldn't use the campervan at all. We had to book new hotel overnights, book restaurants instead of using the kitchen. We hired the campervan from Motorhome republic: they didn't do anything. At the end they offered 10% discount. We never saw that money. We are preparing a claim by our lawyer for both companies. If any one want to join us: you're welcome. I really hope that new rentals will read first this review. Our 3 weeks holiday in New Zealand is totally destroyed by Road Runner Rental. For us (from the Netherlands) it's a long way to NZ and cost a lot of money. Thanks to Road Runners Rental and Randall they ruined our holiday. 
Please: read this! And don't rent any car at Road Runner Rental. We paid for 18 days: 7.500 Dollar! They also kept our bond of 1000 Dollar to pay the AA-service (we didn't confirm this: Randall did), to pay the mechanics for working on their own vehicle. Based on the Dutch law this company definitely would be closed by the judge. This company gave us a very negative perception of the New Zealand people. 
Join us with the claim by court against Road Runner Rental.
