Replete was established in 1993 and is still owned and operated by its original owner, Chris Johnston. Not only is it a day time cafe but is also has a kitchenware / deli shop selling NZ made products and designer kitchenware. Free WIFI available.

We stumbled on this cafe quite by accident, having driven around the streets of Taupo a couple of times looking for a mobility park. Happily we found one a very short distance down the road. The place seemed to be quite busy but the staff had not let that get to them and were very friendly and amenable. I didn't get to the list of offerings on the wall, as there was an amazing array of choices in the well chilled cabinet. We both settled for what is known in France as a baguette but here is called a flute, stuffed with ham and a very tasty cheese. Even at lunch time they were as fresh as if they had recently been baked. A very large iron teapot was also provided and contained sufficient fluid for both of us to have two cups each, most unusual. In all a good fast lunch at a reasonable price served by a very obliging staff. We will most definitely go there again.

A hot day in Taupo, a nice looking café off the main strip, what could go wrong? Two friends and myself stopped in to Replete looking for something cold to drink and a bite to eat. The store front was appealing and there were quite a few patrons in line and out front. The staff were friendly and the iced coffees were decent, but the food certainly left some room for improvement. If you're in to good food left to sit then microwaved when ordered - then this is the place for you. It seemed as though it was at one point made with love, but after the microwave dries out a bagel, makes vegetables turn to mush, and hardens cheese beyond the consistency of a cinder block, any love in this food died a slow irradiated death. Stop in for a coffee, stay away from the microwave food. Perhaps something freshly made would be better, but I couldn't warrant the price for many items on the menu.

Great care with decent food and reasonable coffee. Has a large cabinet selection with some really good savories, salads and cakes. The hot drinks can be a bit hit and miss at times, but overall good. It can be a bit poky inside when it's busy but it has a good atmosphere.

Great food and service - also many thanks (Brooklyn) for your excellent customer service; returning my sweatshirt via courier, after discovering it was missing - it arrived back to me beautifully packaged with note and within a couple of days of our phone call to you. So grateful, THANKS!

The store has a unique and quirky selection of high end goods with great customer service. The cafe has above average coffee with a good selection of cabinet foods. The menu is standard and as expected for a decent cafe.
