Story

The Queensland Hairdressing Academy is a privately owned Registered Training Organisation that provides training for both apprentices and full-time students. Our full-time courses are practically based and can be completed in as little as 10-12 months. We encourage any student who has a genuine interest in hairdressing to contact the Academy for further information or to make an appointment to tour to college.

The Queensland Hairdressing Academy offers an Advanced salon where clients are encouraged to come in and be models for our students. The Advanced salon can be contacted on 3847 3874 to make an appointment.

I fancied doing something wild and having fun with my hair colour, being a boring brown for the last 20 years since teenage fun. The teachers and students were interested and professional. After the consultation which was interesting for me and included caring knowledge from the staff about what would work what wouldn't etc, I then returned a week or so later for the actual session where I didn't feel rushed through a machine but care was taken. I later received an offer from the lady in charge of teaching to have it tweaked - to ensure I was totally happy with the colour. I was incredibly impressed by this. They are exceptionally good value already. I accepted, went back, and had a phenomenally thorough and enjoyable experience all over again, this time my hair being worked on by the experienced owner herself with another student. I have since returned a third time to have the roots redone, and again - amazing focus, professionalism, and care for my scalp and hair, again with the enjoyably fabulous boss, a different student on the colour process, then another student for the cutting. It has been a pleasure to help in their learning, though they are all pretty darn good already, and to enjoy the results of their work. I love the students and the staff, their balance of fun and seriousness with teaching and learning at the heart of the salon, and I loved every second of my whacky experiment which has worked out beautifully. Other happy customers in there too. Very lucky lad I am, and wouldn't think twice to go back
As a mature age student paying full fees, my experience was not very positive. I did not receive what I paid for in the time frame promoted. Expecting only one teacher to cover many students at different levels was impossible and to my detriment; this being my only workplace experience. Management were hostile & failed to address my concerns in enough time to correct the situation. As a result of all of the above I could not recommend them
This school is not good. I've been to Academy of Makeup and my experience was great but this one is not. The instructor can't teach properly because they have to teach like 15 students or more with different courses in one class. There's no proper demostrantion, the instructors are not systematic, not approachable, they don't have timetable of the course, the school lacks organization. Facilities are bad. Instructors are stressing because they have to attend to the need of every student teaching different things like, hair coloring, upstyling, barbering, etc. I felt neglected and I think some students might have felt the same way. It's really a bad experience, I totally wasted my time effort and money.
Was happy with the service. Happy with my hair cut. Friendly people and it's free!!! On Monday's for men it is free. Also Happy to be a test subject to help young kids learn
I saw Rebecca for a cut and treatment. I enjoyed first class customer service , a professional hair cut and a relaxing experience. Highly recommend
