My first visit to this hospital. I was quite surprised the parking is free. The staff are very polite and friendly. Although, the furnishings looked worn out. I am certain it is well overdue for a makeover. The lunch /cafeteria located on the ground floor also looks outdated; the food on offer looked very unappealing. The staff working and looking after the patients in the hospital deserve better quality food as there is no restaurant nearby. UPDATE: Well after waiting for a whole day at the day surgery was told they could no longer proceed with the plan due to lack of staff and we were sent home. After all the preparations made to this day including fasting no food intake prior to surgery only to cancel and be sent home after 8 hours of patiently waiting. Terrible health system where lives and health of people are put at risk. Quite appalling.
I recently had surgery at qe11 and I must say from the moment I arrived the nursing staff were absolutely amazing. I was treated with the utmost respect and felt like I was the most important person there. The admission nurse who took my vitals was so lovely, she really made me relaxed and confident that I was in very safe hands. The doctors were excellent and explained my surgery fully. The food was very good and everyone I encountered made it clear my care was their main concern . I would recommend this hospital to anyone just marvellous
Cannot fault this hospital. I first presented at Emergency where the admin, nurses and doctors were wonderful. Then was admitted and the doctors & nurses during my stay were exceptional. Even the catering & ward staff were great. The care and treatment I received was outstanding. Cannot thank them enough.
Was super surprised on my visit here for various reasons. Free hospital parking. A designated patient drop-off/pick up zone. Plenty of seating in the Outpatient's area. And... the wonderfully polite and friendly staff. I was welcomed warmly at the Outpatients entry and given clear directions on where I needed to be. Upon arrival to the right area, wait time was super minimal to be checked in by AO staff. It was then approximately 15 minutes from when Consultations commenced, to be seen. From AO, to Doctor, to Xray, back to Doctor, to specialist, I was in and out within 2 hours. Thanking the staff for showing up to work, without you, Queensland Health would be null.
I came to the QEII Public Hospital funded by the taxpayers' money on 26 July 2022 at night because I have a strange difficulty breathing that even my GP cannot find the cure for me. I thought this hospital that use public money to fund their operation can find the cure for me. Before seeing a doctor, an uncaring and arrogant nurse treated me rudely by telling me in a rude tone to put away my phone while she didn't do anything with my hands. Then, in order to satisfy her ego, she told me to leave but I refused to. Again, in order to satisfy her ego and abuse of power, she asked the security to help her to kick me out. However, the security didn't ask me in a rude manner so I put my phone away. Then again in order to satisfy her ego, she had to say that I will have to wait for hours, may be 5 hours. The question is whether she can live with her life if I die in the waiting room. Let me remind you about the sign you put in the waiting room. The sign says that you will provide service with kindness, compassionate care and be the advocate for those who are at their most vulnerable. Let me ask you one more time about this question that surely you found the answer while you studied at university. Who is the customer of the hospital? The patient. Without patients, you do not have any business at all. Without business, why do taxpayers have to give you money to fund your operation? i am a patient with a strange breathing difficulty but you treated me like garbage. I am disappointed and deeply hurt. I think I will go home and take a risk to survive without medical care. I am sick and I do not have time to be insulted and abandoned. I think you guys need to rethink why you work in a public hospital. Hi QEII Public Hospital and OHO, I think you need to simplify your complaint process like Google Review. I have another complaint for Logan Hospital. They left me for 6 hours in my last trip to this hospital without treatment and medication for these similar symptoms I suffer. No early treatment and medication from the paramedics Queensland Ambulance Service either. I think QAS should change their name. I think the word Queensland is too good for you. Your incompetent paramedics do not deserve to have Queensland associated with them. I was gasping for air and I thought it was my last breathe and it was time for me to leave this wonderful world. I dedicated my time and hard work for this hospital as a pharmacy assistant for almost eight years and they cannot even remember that I ever worked there. What a shocking and disgraceful employer!!! I am still bitter for their unfair dismissal and will not forgive them for what they have done to my life. I do not know why I wanted to be taken to Logan Hospital when I am gasping for air. I don't trust them to save my life. I don't think you, the people of Australia, should either. It's about time for these two hospitals to close their doors. No more business for you. The staff who work there are incompetent and heartless. It's time for public money to be allocated for other more important business. Hey Metro South, do you need me to copy and paste this comment in Logan Hospital review too??? I found Google review is a more effective and powerful media to express the truth. I think the next savings for public money is closing QIRC and OHO. I don't find that they are useful at all. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I accept their apology. I will give them 3 star rating for now. I will give 5 stars if they really mean their apology and sincerely want to help me when I am gasping for air again.
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL, UNLESS YOU ARE DYING. You could end up waiting in the emergency room for over 3 hours. Any appointments, be prepared to potentially wait over 45 minutes. Had keyhole surgery on my knee and for nearly 4 years I've be having various degrees of pain, including sharp stabbing pains. And yet the hospital basically tells me that they can't see the problem, therefore there's no problem and it's not their problem. Please seek a different hospital for surgery.
Day Surgery team were all so lovely. This is the first time I’d ever been there for a procedure and the staff were all very kind, thoughtful and caring towards me and my anxious energy and the others around me. I would def recommend them to anyone.
Nurses sitting and laughing while I’m standing at the desk clearly waiting to speak to someone, told that I’d be given pain medication but had to follow it up because it took them an hour to give it to me. When I finally got my medication, one of them being panadol, the nurse says “you could have just had some when you get home”. Well, sorry love, didn’t expect such slack waiting times at an ED with only 6 people. Otherwise, yes, I would have just had panadol at home : xx But don’t worry. I saw a doctor elsewhere the next day. I understand nurses and doctors do a lot for us, but at least look and act more professional than that.
I am beyond grateful with my experience here, I had my first ever emergency operation and every single department emergency, the ward, operating theatre, ultrasound had the most caring, lovely, personal, funny staff. I felt so safe, so cared for and I’m just so grateful for my experience.
I’ll never go back to this hospital again. I arrived at 12:30am and had to leave at at 6:30am to care for my kids and still hadn’t seen a doctor. The emergency room area was dirty also. Staff that I did speak with seemed nice which is the only saving grace for this hospital.
