I visited this hospital ED on Sunday afternoon as my daughter had sprained her ankle and I thought it was best to get it checked out. We have not long moved her from NZ so I wasn't sure what to expect. The staff, nurses and doctor we saw were all very friendly. There was a wait and we were there for roughly four hours. You could tell it was busy and they were doing the best they could, I heard clear communication with each patient who asked the admin team when it would be there turn and I personally thought they were very honest about how long things would take. We were sent on our way with a moon boot after being told there was no obvious fracture. I received a phone call to say there actually was a fracture and could we please go back to get crutches and make a new plan. We were seen straight away as a requested call back.
I was rushed to emergency on the weekend, I was in surgery the same afternoon. I couldn't be happier with the way things went.nnThe doctors and nurses were flat out, but they still took the time to put my mind at ease about my surgery, and made sure I was comfortable afterwards.nnThanks doctor Tom and all the nurses.
The nurses here deserve medals. Specifically want to mention Amy in the ED, as well as Mel, Leticia, Jess, Shane and Susan in the Otho ward. Genuinely caring and professional. Made an awful experience much more tolerable. Can't thank you enough. I've never had a bad experience at this hospital.
Arrived at the emergency department at 4.30pm, Friday, between 4.30pm and Being admitted at around 9.40pm xyrays, consultations, cannula and other observations were done. The emergency room was filling up some had to be there but many did not appear to and had left causing extra waiting and wasting of time. There was a bottle neck somewhere in the line.nnOnce admitted the help and medical attention I received was way way above what I was expecting. The emergency staff were fantastic and apologetic about the waiting time. There were many many ambulance drivers with patients as well waiting to be seen.nSpecial thanks to the blonde English nurse and the specialist orthopedic surgeon that admitted me and helped me from here on. Thank you.nnThe whole staff at Ward 2A went above and beyond to assist and aides me right up until I was discharged Tuesday afternoon. Special mentions go out to Shane, Mel, Abi, Sarah, shor-mi, Geo, lala, Jess, Tara, Anne Marie, Mariam, Apologies for missing anyone and for incorrect spelling of names .nnThe tall surgeon and whole team plus specialists anesthesiologist James, all of your bedside manners and professional and caring natures were hugely appreciated with thanks . Thank you.nnPhysio Alyssa, was helpful and professional and went above to get what was needed for me.nnThe Transit lounge nursing staff special mentions to Jack and the wonderfully caring nurse from the Philippines and the nurse and Podiatrist from the first follow up today. WOW.nnYou ALL made my first surgery hospital experience a pleasure. THANK YOU. Keep doing what you are doing. God bless you all.
My first visit to this hospital. I was quite surprised the parking is free. The staff are very polite and friendly. Although, the furnishings looked worn out. I am certain it is well overdue for a makeover. The lunch /cafeteria located on the ground floor also looks outdated; the food on offer looked very unappealing. The staff working and looking after the patients in the hospital deserve better quality food as there is no restaurant nearby. UPDATE: Well after waiting for a whole day at the day surgery was told they could no longer proceed with the plan due to lack of staff and we were sent home. After all the preparations made to this day including fasting no food intake prior to surgery only to cancel and be sent home after 8 hours of patiently waiting. Terrible health system where lives and health of people are put at risk. Quite appalling.
