Story

Chef Dominique Rizzo's passion for all things purely food, coming together as family and friends, connecting and sharing has led her into creating "Putia": Pure Food Kitchen, Cooking School and Pantry, located on Brisbane’s north side in the hub of Banyo, an emerging urban hot spot.

The Restaurant
Putia Pure Food Kitchen provides you with a relaxed child and dog friendly welcoming open space to dine with family and friends. The cooking school is a great place to learn healthy sustainable cooking and lifestyle changes, with classes open to beginners and novice cooks.
Putia's multipurpose dining space is open from Wednesday - Sunday 7am - 2.30 pm for all day Breakfast/Lunch/Coffee/Cakes/Bar and Tapa. we welcome group bookings, private events, private dining and can accommodate separate split bills.
Putia acts as a fantastic community hub showcasing local Queensland products and a selection of Dominique's own brand “Pure Food Cooking” all natural home and body products.

The Food
The Sicilian aspect to A Putia refers to the heritage of Chef Dominique Rizzo as a place where her father was born, where she visited as a young child, where she was influenced through the lifestyle, cooking, ingredients and her passion for sharing the Mediterranean feel and way of eating and living. Dominique Rizzo has also chosen Sicily to run her yearly food tours reflecting and drawing on the many cultural layers to the Sicilian cuisine, culture and history which include Spain, Africa, Arab, Greek, French, Byzantine and many more thus bringing this aspect of multiculturalism through cooking, cooking classes and cultural awareness to the place “A Putia”.

“A PUTIA” is an old Sicilian word for local store, Putia still exists today in Sicily and they remain places where locals come and shop for their daily food products, exchanging stories, recipes and catching up on the local community happenings.

Our first time here. This place is set up as a homely and present area to dine. The staff were excellent and very attentive to your needs. We tried the gnocchi and pork belly to share, and the plating was unique and fresh. We loved both dishes and topped them up with an excellent coffee. We love this place and will be back again.
Lovely vibe and excellent customer service. I had the breakfast gnocchi and it was super delicious! Full of flavour and you could tell it was authentically made. Will definitely be back again!!
the real community hub of Banyo! This place always delivers on friendliness, service and quality. Would highly recommend for a breakfast or brunch catch up with friends
Cannot fault this cafe. Exceptional service from floor staff, smooth soy cappuccino, the food TO DIE FOR!! Each plate is the perfect blend of spices and texture. I drive recklessly from Kenmore Hills a 35 minute drive just to spoil myself- and if you're reading this, you should too. I just love this place!
Good access for wheelchairs and wheelie walkers. Lovely fresh juices. Good portion meal sizes made with quality ingredients. Coffee was okay. Attentive and help staff. Parking on street.
Putia is a hidden gem next to Banyo train station. The food is delectable and the customer service is top notch. Extremely happy with all dishes at the cafe and will definitely be coming back.
This is probably one of the best cafes in Brisbane. We had the loveliest experiences here today. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and just fantastic. The menu is seasonal, great portions and just damn delicious !! Really well priced menu for how much you get and the quality of the food. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back.
This place was closing in 5 mins but they still served us in China cups for coffee like another business in Banyo. Ladies were so friendly.
Staff are friendly and food is delicious! Fish cake flavours were refreshing and well balanced with salad and sauce. The Avo bliss was blissful and puts the humble mashed avo and toast to shame..The prices for me reflect more of an outing on a beachfront or somewhere in Southbank or the West end. Overall, it was ok. I’ve since been jack and have to say the quality has gotten better and while the prices are still the same. It’s worth it once in a while.
The best cafe in the area! Great quality produce, delicious wholesome creative menu, and friendly staff. The almond and orange crepes and lamb roll with polenta chips are SO good, but today we had the Mediterranean omelette and the chicken burger, both very tasty.
