About

..the ponycat is a mythical half bunyip half kangaroo creature with the lightning reflexes of an emu that scours the outback looking for jolly swagman to prey on...or it is just a really sweet cafe in new farm..either way, come have coffee..

Story

..ponycat, ponycat, can we eat lunch, and all of the nice things that you have for brunch?
If we come early can we have some eggs? And all of the coffee to fill up our legs?
We have been good so we may have cake! And come back tommorrow to see what you make!
Our kitchen is open daily till 2:30, and we stay another hour or so for free..but on Sundays when Ponycat needs his rest, so on Monday can be at his best..we close the kitchen at 2...and go and recharge at the pub for a brew...

Run by a lovely young couple, I grab coffee here regularly and have never had a bad one - I have seen them custom-tune how they make it for people wanting a stronger one and fine tune the machine settings as the morning was warming up outside! They take coffee seriously :- They use really good quality ingredients in their meals - I've always come away satisfied :- Bit different, bit fun, nice local business
Food was simple but pretty tasty. Had the green mountain. Coffee was alright, a little too light for my taste. If I worked or lived nearby I'd come here. Otherwise, not really worth a detour to come to.
Simple and tasty food, friendly staff and always good prices. Breakfast and coffee for under $15! Gets busy after 9am on weekends so try to be there a touch before to get a spot. Great for a quick meal or catch up with a group.
I love places that offer breakfast most of the day. They also sometimes offer a range of milkshakes with more than the standards like caramel and banana etc. Great artwork on the walls and tables too. Nice place
Could take the crown for best breaky in Brisbane all day. We had the Green Mountain and it was a taste sensation. Casual, chilled setting and food made with pride and love. We'll be back. Thanks chef.
This place is the best!! Friendly and super-helpful service once the chef actually came out showed me a herb I had asked about, seriously delicious food with heaps of veg options, decent portions and really reasonable prices. Definitely recommend this place for a casual and cosy atmosphere and yummy stuff -:

The first thing you notice about Ponycat is the artwork with colorful cartoons that create a fun ambience. Coffee is Campos and made well. The food is somewhat healthier than usual and certainly fills you up.
Ponycat has hands down the best breakfast for such reasonable breakfast prices. The staff are always friendly and the food combinations are the best flavours, would recommend to anyone!
