A pioneer of laneway dining in Melbourne, Punch Lane has been a favourite amongst theatre-goers, wine-lovers and long-lunchers since 1995.

Story

Owner Martin Pirc has amassed an eclectic bunch of curios artifacts, collating the unique findings together in a refurbished police station. Salvaged from an old basketball court in Healesville, the rich timber bar made up of 100 year-old-jarrah floorboards, hand-crafted wrought iron fixtures, & red leather chairs worn by The Beatles on their 1964 tour to Australia are just some of the priceless furnishings that make Punch Lane the beautiful venue you see today. Designed by acclaimed Melbourne architects Jackson, Clements, & Burrows, the dining area on Little Bourke St provides the perfect spot to sit & watch the world go by. This slightly eccentric, yet clever design has also won Punch Lane the 2005 Urban Architecture Award.
With so much to offer, Punch Lane is set to impress anyone who is looking for a true Melbourne laneway gem.

A very intimate and romantic space with a huge wine list and wonderful menu offerings. Service was impeccable. I will be recommending this place and coming back. Overall great experience. Couldn't fault it.

Celebrated my dads 70th here and words cannot describe how perfect it was. The candle on the desert was a lovely surprise and the wine pairings were just incredible.

Nice wine bar with a great atmosphere. This was the second time I've been. This time had the chefs menu. It was nice, but probably too much on the raw/rare side in terms of meat. The trout was fantastic though....

Totally delicious food and great selection of wine! The service is fabulous.

Food was fabulous and service top notch.
